Anyone who does or doesn't drives?

Hi all

 

Does or doesn't everybody drive who is going to Oz on a WHV? Do you have to drive or are thete allot people either charitable or generous and share vehickles with people who don't?

When I was on my WHV, even though I can drive I only drove twice. Once on Fraser Island, but was with group of other people and only a few of us drove, another time hired car with group of friends and did Great Ocean Road, only 2 of us drove.

 

Rest of the time I traveled by bus, or had cheap internal flights.

 

Unless you are planning to buy a car or hire camper van, not being able to drive is easily over come.

I only drove when I rented a car and drove down the east coast. You can get by without driving fairly easy, but as lebourvellec said you only really need to drive if you fancy buying a car and living in it or driving around etc... internal flights are fairly cheap and a hell of a lot quicker than driving!
