anitalund
Hi We have just moved to Sydney (a week ago) and our son gets mid rate DLA in the UK - he is with us in Sydney. I've read that we can still claim this for so long - does anyone have any experience about this and how long we can continue receiving the benefit for him? We cannot claim anything in Australia. We are on a temporary visa (457). Thanks.

Check very carefully as we left the UK in 2006 and informed DLA in writing and phone calls that we were leaving We had 2 payments made into our UK bank after we left then got letters asking for the payments back -which we did repay
lebourvellec
You can no longer claim this you are no longer living in UK. You need to be habitual resident in UK to claim - regardless of Australian visa status you are no longer living in UK.
starlight7
The British are very stingy about this sort of thing. I would be surprised if you can get anything- and if they do send any they may well want it back later so be careful!
