Hi. We live Chesterfield but not too far away. Are you planning to move to Oz? If so where are you thinking of going? We have applied for 175 visa and are considering Adelaide, possibly Melbourne.

Hi. Presume visas (if granted) will be granted by mid 2008. We have our house to sell so probably move 2009 if all goes to plan. Have you applied for your visas yet?

Hi everyone - Weve just got our Visas... WHOOPEE........(monday to be exact!) moving to Sunshine Coast or South Brisbane - not quite decided yet - liked both areas when we visited last year but we will go where the work is - OH a Plasterer. Planning to go about Aug/Sept time but to be honest as soon as the house is sold and we are organised OMG ....! Just thought it would be nice to have a get together with others in our situation, we dont know anyone in Oz, so thought we'd start socialising now before we got there! Pity we havent got the weather though!. Got to get removals sorted etc.so any info anyone could share would be bril. We mainly free at a weekend, Sunday the best day really for us....we could meet halfway somewhere - Bonnie & Clyde ...not sure what halfway would be for us and you ? Jez... you only about 30 mins away i think.... we've got two delightful kids 12 years and 4 years - not sure if you have kids too ?? Any suggestions .... Thanks for getting back to us. Debs x

Hi Martin/Suzy,

We were thinking of going to the expo but looked at range of employers who will be there and neither fit our occupations. Have you heard good things about the expo? Not sure if its worth us going or not? Have you booked your tickets?

Lana and Bruce (jez is our dogs name but quicker to write!!)

You can count us in. Hubby thinks it's a great idea. He is a shift worker though, so it will depend on whether he is working the weekend chosen.

Hi Everyone - Got a right good possie, havent we !!! .........Now we've just got to think where we can meet.?? Our local the Mundy Arms, Heanor which Guy originally said is nice.. child friendly.. got a little play area outside but nothing inside. Its only 15 mins or so off the M1 junction 26 or 27 so could be a good place for our first meet ??? Its hard to think now where could be sort of central for us all, only other place I can think of is the 'Harvester or Brewers Fayre Sort of Pub - just off junction 26, near the tram station at Phoenix Park, heading for Notts ???? Next thing is the date - next sunday is Mothers day so how about the Sunday after the 9th March ???? Maybe we could book tables so that we are all sat together, they'll wonder whats hit them ?? All these Poms, Ozzy bound !!!! Let me know what you think ..... Debs, Guy & the Kids xx

Hellooo,

Can we join you? Jeff and I are based in Mansfield with our three little mischiefs ( will hopefully sort out a babysitter) and would love to meet everyone. Jeff works shifts but I am on mat leave so footloose and fancyfree....lol(perhaps not). We are hoping to head to Western Australia and are just getting this big ball rolling!

Look forward to more updates soon.

Hi Mart/Suzy - think it would be nice to have kids with us. i know ours are dying to make new friends and just see other kids that are going to Oz. They think they are going to be the only ones......

Just noticed as well you mentioned the Expo in Leeds earlier, sorry didnt answer you. Is there a Website you can look at to see who's going?.. Guy is a Plaserer, and it might be worth a trip... we did go to the one in York last year, but not alot for Construction/Skilled Trades ? xxx
