How's life in Cairns???

Hello

 

i hope someone can give me the low down on life n Cairns.

 

My hubby and i are thinking of moving to Cairns, well if I can find a nursing job in the area, and would like to know what it's like and what's the nicest areas.

 

my hubby's being told all,sorts of horror stories about man sized spiders etc, but really he should realise a tropical climate will attract creepy crawlers.

 

anyway, I hope some of you kind people can steer us in the right direct.

For me, life in Cairns is great and I really enjoy being here.

 

I may move elsewhere down the line though for a few years, but only for work purposes, but I know if I do go overseas I’ll be back living here eventually and that it’s where I’ll live my days out.

PS – seen some big crocs and snakes, but, as yet, no man sized spiders, so your OH should be safe ;-)

I love Cairns. It's a great place to bring up a family. The Cairns Base Hospital has been making people redundant due to financial cut backs in health.

There are certainly interesting animals, but as you say this is the tropics. Last week a chicken of a neighbour was taken by a python.

 

On the whole I wouldn't live anywhere else.
