ali Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Just want to promote this thread on our sister site Perth Poms ... some coming over might find it interesting. http://www.perthpoms.com/forum/money-finance/11246-grocery-prices-uk-vs-australia-our-recent-reccie.html
ali Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 The member on PP has done a comparrison with the UK (great spread sheet) . I've only been over East on Holiday and there wasn't much difference in prices for the few items we bought (but didn't do a grocery shop), Wine is a little more expensive here I think.
ali Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Its already on here Thanks, i've just noticed it.
LizOz Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Is the idea of this to give people an idea of the cost of living before they come? Once you are here I would avoid comparing things to UK prices as you'll just be frustrated. Also it's hard to compare due to dire exchange rates, increased wages, different seasons, local preferences etc etc!
ali Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 The poster was just making comparisson and using the cost of the current exhange rate - there are often threads on PP regarding the cost of living - I think they were just trying to be helpful.
