jubbs
Hello I am new to this website so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place. I am just finishing my PGCE (secondary) in ICT and am looking to work as a teacher in a British international school in Abu Dhabi. After this I plan to emigrate to Australia to teach without doing my UK NQT year. Does anyone know if I need to complete my UK NQT year to apply for a visa or will my experience teaching in a British international school suffice? Thank you in advance for your help. Kind regards. Rossmoyne
Hi jubbs - not sure on the answer to this with the current visa requirements, but it was OK a few years ago. As I understand it, NQT in UK means nothing in OZ - it is just that if you go back to UK and havent done the NQT year within years of UK quals that you have an issue... I could be wrong though so please dont take my reply as gospel!!
