Chortlepuss
My 17 year old didn't have to take the test - just had to answer some questions in a casual chat. It took a few months to get a test, and then we had to wait for our ceremony to formally become citizens. There is a GDAY Australia practice test you can get free for the iPhone. Worth plugging away so you can learn the answers, some of which are a bit obscure... Also you can use it to test your Australian friends to see if they pass or not (they usually fail on questions about the royal family!)
