newtothis
two weeks now since the lawyer sent over the final requirement for our 457 visa. We were told they would finalise and approve once they had the police check but we are still hanging on for any response. the lawyer has chased up the CO via the management and today has requested the contact details for the director of the division in order to escalate the issue. Just so frustrating and annoying...why say they will approve once they have seen the police check and then do nothing for two weeks following that. Is anyone else having issues with DIAC Perth or are we just unlucky to get a slack CO
blossom
Some people wait way longer than two weeks for the 457 visa. There have been a few posts recently where people have been waiting a long time. Try to relax.

I know, we submitted three weeks ago and its more the fact that the CO advised that the police check was the final thing they wanted before they approved. blossom
Unfortunately the co can sometimes go off sick, or on holidays, and then you are just left waiting. This seems the norm until they know they are going to be sick for a long time, then they hand out the cases to other officers.
inuk90
Same here mate, been waiting almost 6 weeks now. Co requested docs about 4 weeks ago, still nothing, my agent emailed the co twice with no response!!!
Raul Senise
If a case officer has to request further documents, the file usually goes to the bottom of their work pile. They do not necessarily work on it again as soon as the further documents are provided. This is done to encourage “decision ready” applications, rather than having to assess a file and then officially request further documents which wastes much time.
