Leach Family Posted March 11, 2013 Share Posted March 11, 2013 Hi All I'm currently on a 457 but I'm changing employers in the next few weeks. We currently live in Canberra but moving to Perth. Should I consider changing to RSMS or 175 or should I stay with my 457 for now? Any advice, personal experience or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Rupert Posted March 11, 2013 Share Posted March 11, 2013 If you are changing employers in the next few weeks, you really should need to have sorted this out by now. The 175 visa is no more, it is a 189 visa now and if it is not already applied for then you have no chance of getting one in the next few weeks. Likewise for the RSMS visa. So you have no option, you need to get the new employer to take over the 457 sponsorship. Unless of course you are the secondary holder of the 457 and your OH has alredy organised for a new sponsor to take over? In which case you can just carry on as you are, but long term if you want to stay you need to think about PR visas. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

OK so they have agreed to take over my 457 but cant i then apply for RSMS once with them? Or would i be better applying for the new 175? I'm looking for the quickest way to get PR?
