Anyone Late 20s in Perth?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

just wondering if there are any other newbies to perth.

we have been here for about 6 months now (although I've lived here before) and my partner is starting to miss watching the football at the pub.

We are 27 & 28, no kiddies yet. We are a bit past clubbing these days and prefer quieter things although still like going to the odd bar every now and then. Quite like going to watch sport and other events too.

we are north of the river in joondalup at the moment.

Enough trying to sell ourselves now!

Hi Laura and Rich,

My husband and I are un the same boat as you guys although a little older !!! (36 & 31) We have been here a little over a year and also live in Joondalup.

We enjoy going out and about too. We have been to a couple of AFL games and supported the local soccer team Perth Glory. Unfortunately our UK soccer team doesn't get much air time over here, but we do enjoy a good game.

PM if you would like to meet up.

Cheers

Kelly and Martin

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi All,

We are new to this site and to WA and like most are looking to meet some new people!

My partner (James 27) and I (25) arrived a few weeks ago from the UK and have settled into a place but are missing friends and family back home, especially James as I can't talk footie, cricket or sports in general for toffee which frustrates him to no end :)

We are in East Perth and are quite laid back people who enjoy eating, drinking, beaching, sports and live music and just having a laugh... although admittedly are quite passed the clubbing phase!

Although you guys are up north, we are happy to travel around so you guys ever fancy a coffee or a beer whilst watching the footie (there are a few places round us that show games at silly o clock in the morning, so there must be some up by you too?!) just drop us a line.

Hi Lisa (and James)

Welcome to Perth and welcome to Poms in Oz.

unfortunately Perth Glory were knocked out of the finals rounds last night so we will have to resort back to the good old English football. Alternatively there is the AFL which isn't so bad when you understand the rules !!! (It is a bit more complicated than the offside rule lol)

There are some good pubs up this way to watch the footy. Any big events like the finals, it's always good to go to the casino.

I have to ask.... Which team do you follow ???

Just let me know when you fancy going out and we can see if we are free. (Martin sometimes is on call for work)

Take care

Kelly

Hi all

We have been on this site for a while now but since getting here we have forgotten to keep up with it, I am 25 and a nurse, my other half is 34 and a joiner. We have been here for 10months now and we love it so much, we have quite a lot of friends but the majority are older than us and with kids, we too are pretty much over our clubbing days although Sam still thinks he's 18. We are keen to meet new people and also live in Joondalup at the moment.

if anyone fancies meeting up for a coffee, or a few drinks let us know.

Hi Kelly, thank you for a warm welcome! Yeah I saw that perth glory were ko'ed, other than the small snippets I've seen on TV, Aussie rules is still a little alien to me! We headed to the casino about a week ago under the illusion that the Chelsea Southampton game was on one of the big screens, but much to James disgust, it ended up on one of the smaller screens... Luckily really because they lost! So from that you can guess that he supports good old Chelsea... It always stirs up some banter, but he's a good sport and takes the good with the bad :-) What about you guys?

Hi Emma and Sam, kind of in the same situation as you in that James is 27 wishing he could (occasionally) jump back to his formative years (!) and having been here a couple of weeks we have real loose connections, you know the friends of friends of friends type, but they are a little older with tiddlers too which is lovely, but it would be nice to get to know some like minded people too.

It would be great to meet up, perhaps we can arrange a meet for all of us one evening/weekend if all are interested? I'm a little unsure where's good up north, so your suggestions would be great!
