flybyknight Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 Hi all im working with a guy here in Melbourne who is trying to get resedency hes currently here on a 417 and is being messed around with employers promising to sponsor and not doing it. His skill is on the list for state sponsorship though. Any advice would be great should he carry on the slog or try for state sponsorship? Tickled Pink Posted March 5, 2013 Share Posted March 5, 2013 Well, if it were me I'd be thinking about how the employers are messing him about now, what about further down the road? will it get worse? will they pull the sponsorship rug out at the last minute by making him redundent etc? If your friend can do an independant route then I would jump on that all the way. Better to be tied to a state than a shitty employer... Better still, he can get things underway ready to lodge his application without needing to involve the current employer, so can carry on working out his six months, whilst doing the skills assess etc in the background.
