Rossboss
Both myself and my partner are hoping to move to Oz. I am able to apply for a working holiday visa while I submit my EOI. However, my girlfriend (a Filipino) is not able to get a working holiday visa as the Philippines does not have an agreement with Australia. My question is, if she gets an ordinary ETA and then submits her own EOI whilst in Oz, can she apply for a bridging visa that allows her to work whilst her resident visa is being processed? Rupert
No, she will not be allowed to work.
Tickled Pink
Usually how it works is that your bridging visa carries the terms and conditions of the last visa you held - therefore a tourist visa has no working rights, and so, as Rupert has said, neither will she on the bridging visa. Likewise with yourself, you will have the same working rights as the WHV, so no more than 6 months with one employer etc.
Rossboss
Thanks. I thought that would be the case but it isn't easy to decipher that from the information given on the website.
