Whats Black Rock Like?

Black rock is a lovely place. I live a few suburbs away in Parkdale. I'm not sure of streets but I think as long as you are walking distance from the beach it's pretty much a lovely place. Obviously beach road is the best place for views. It has a lovely group of boutique shops and coffee shops and is close to Southland (Westfield shopping centre). Fairly close to st Kilda and Brighton.

Lots of amazing beach walks and close to half moon bay (amazing fish and chips).

I love Parkdale, where I live, because of the village / beach lifestyle but close to the city. I do yoga in black rock. It's a pleasure to drive along the beach to class.

I also live in Parkdale! I love Black Rock - would love to live there, although I love Parkdale too. Black Rock is phenomenally expensive, justifiably so as it's a very wealthy area. Think "ladies who lunch" with little dogs on their laps in their Mercedes!

Parkdale is a bit more down to earth, but equally liveable and a bit less pretentious!

Is it possible to be living in expensive areas with out appearing pretentious?

Parkdale rocks! Best place I've lived so far. If you haven't tried ficelles yet I highly recommend it! Best meal I've had in ages.

I think if I had lots of money I might move to black rock but I'm perfectly happy here in Parkdale. People always smile and say hello.
