Families in Sydney

Recommended Posts

Hi

I moved to Sydney in January this year with my husband, 2 year old and 4 month old.

As my husband has just started his new job I'm now really missing my baby buddies from back home. I've joined a couple if playgroups but would also like to meet other mums/families in a similar position -for coffee, chats, play dates etc.

I currently live in Macquarie Park but will shortly be moving to Epping.

Anyone out there fancy meeting up?

Jules

I found this group on www.meetups.com and there are other, similar groups around Sydney.

Hi Jules

I'm not in Sydney yet, but I'll be there at the end of April. I've got a four year old and a 15 month old and we're looking at living somehwere on the upper north shore and would definitely be interested in meeting up. Sorry, it's all a bit all over the place at the mo, but let me know if you want to keep in touch and maybe see you in a couple of months! polly

Hi Polly. Thanks for the message - yes, let's definitely keep in touch. Are you on Facebook? If so might be worth joining up on there (save distributing email addresses on here)? I'm on there as Juliet Rogers - my profile pic is of me with my husband with the harbour bridge in the background!

Hope to hear from you soon and good luck with the next few months if getting ready to come out here.

Jules

Hi Jules and Polly

I'd also be interested in keeping in touch as we will be arriving in Sydney in September and plan to settle around the upper north shore area. We have 3 children, aged 9, 2 and 4 months. I know the early days will be quite lonely so would love to get to know a few people in the same boat beforehand.

Hi, we are a small family of four (to be), who are hoping to be moving over around June time. I am not sure what part of Sydney we will be living in, but the North Shore seems very expensive so I think we are more likely to end up in the shire or someplace like that. Would still be great to make friends (especially for my wife), we have a 10 month old girl and my wife is due to give birth to our second girl in May. We also have two dogs who will be joining us shortly, a cocker spaniel and a minature shnauser. Would be great to keep in touch with folks going through the same thing!

Seems like we've got a bit of a group going already (with only 1 in Sydney already!).

Sounds like a handful with close ages between your girls. Good luck with it all. It's very exciting but also stressful too - this forum is great for help though; we used it loads for our move.

Feel free to link on FB if you are on there too (I can set up a special group for us all too)?? Otherwise I think you can PM people on here too (haven't done that yet so not sure how).

Hi there, will look out for you on the Facebook group as I'm looking to meet families with older children also for my son who's 9. He'd love to be in touch with kids his own age before we head over in September as he has very mixed feelings about going. Is your eldest a boy or girl? How do they feel about going?
