phillys1980 Posted February 3, 2013 Share Posted February 3, 2013 Hi all, I applied for state sponsorship for the 190 visa only last week, I have not heard anything back as to if I have been accepted but today I received my invite for the 189 Independant Visa. Should I wait for response on the SS 190 or go ahead with the 189 ?? are there any differences between the two ? are the processing times similar ?? any answers appreciated. lebourvellec Posted February 3, 2013 Share Posted February 3, 2013 You wont be able to get an invite for the 190 until the 189 invitation has ran out in 60 days. By then if you lodge your application in 1 week you would already have a CO. http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm If you do decide to go with 189, you should withdraw your State Nomination application. I'm going under 189 , but may have a similar dilemma as I've been put forward for a 457.. at least with a 189 you can work anywhere.
