SussexBear
Hi Bob Hope you can help! We moved to Oz in 2007 & took our cat with us from the UK. In 2011 we returned to UK and he had all the rabies injections and tests and flew back in August that year. We are now seriously considering returning to Oz and wondering what we need to do? I have tried reading the AQIS information but it doesn't seem very clear on this one! Will he just need boosters or does he have to go through the tests again, and if so what would the timeframe be? Also he is now 11 but fit and healthy, would he be ok flying(we've promised him that this would be the last time!!!) Many thanks
BobPetairUK
Wow! he is a well travelled furball! He will need a rabies vaccination and rabies blood sample at least 5 months before he flies to allow him to serve minimum quarantine time. both of these need to be done within 12 months of the flight date. So short answer is yes he does need the test again , but if you fancy chatting it through then give us a shout. Thanks Bob
