    Central coast commuting

I commute from Point Clare every day to Burwood on the train it's fine, no worse than going from the South Coast to London. I get the 6:18 and am at work with a cup of tea by 7:35. Home by 6:20 every night. Take a book or a tablet and it's surprising how quickly the time goes. Sometime I have to go to the other office so get to Central about 8ish.
  2. Hi We are a couple in our early 50's who have relocated from UK to the Central Coast (Point Clare)and we would love to meet up with some people in the area. We have joined the local leagues club etc but find that it's not easy to get chatting to pepole. Any thoughts on how we can break in?? As we really love where we are!!!

    cheap hotels in sydney

If you don't want fancy try the Glenferrie Lodge in Kirribilli, it's like a b&b, they have family rooms a big garden and HUGE breakfast which is included. Very friendly place, but be warned lots of stairs and no lifts!!! But the staff are so helpful they will help carry bags or you could ask for a ground floor room if you book. It's handy for the ferry at Kirribilli Wharf and the train at Milsons Point

    please help!!

Can you speak to the Nursing Director if the nurse manager is not being helpful? Also speak to nursing Admin if you have one there. Offer to do a refresher course on meds. I would take advice from the union as well. Medication errors are unfortunately, more common than people realise, but as you realised what had happened and brought to the attention of others quickly, and the patient suffered no harm, try not to worry to much.

Hi every 1we move to gosford nsw on the 13 feb

Hi We moved to Gosford in November, there are lots of rentals around but lots of people chasing,so get your application packs ready. You will need one each for yourself and your husband, take photocopies of your passport, print off your electronic visa entitlement proof of income, referees, credit card and we found it helpful to write a covering application letter, you will need this for EVERY house you apply for even if they are handled by the same agent!! Also take copies of your husbands contract of employment. As soon as you can get your Medicare card and your NSW driving licences(dead easy just take your UK ones and passport and proof of where you are staying into the RTA office) as these help towards your 100 points. You will be asked for 4 weeks rent as a bond plus 2 weeks in advance but if you offer more this can get you over the line. Prices vary enormously anything from $220 a week for a small unit to $400 or more for a house, depends what you want. Most places will start at 6 months lease so you don't feel you have to get the perfect place straightway!! Remember also that the agents vet the applications, then give them to the landlord who makes the final decision. Having said all that you have picked a good spot, we are very happy here on the Central Coast!!

  16. We are returning in a few weeks, my husbands visa label is in his old passport, so taking that and we have also printed off the confirmation of his renewed RRV to carry with us as well. If you follow this link http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/vevo.htm you can chack an electronic visa yourself(just follow the instructions) and you can print off verification, I think it works with all types. It worked when I did it!!

Flying cat back to the UK

Hi We flew our cat back to UK it was a return trip for him so he has done it twice now. Go to a pet transportation company as it makes life so much easier and less stressful for you and your puss. Also, the rabies test must be done 5 months before flying, he/she cannot enter the UK before the 5 months is up( it's the same going to Oz as well except there they have to do 30 days quarantine as well). I don't know when you are leaving but get the rabies injection done asap, as the test for antibodies has to be done 21 days after the injection, and that is when your 5 month countdown begins. Our jet setting cat is 12 now and is ping ponging back with us! He travelled fine, pet transportation companies spray the travel boxes with pheromones to help calm the traveller, and they are checked and watered throughout the flight. We were in Adelaide and used a company called Animal Travel in Mile End Adelaide, who were excellent, they also fly pets all over Australia so you could contact them as I would have thought they would be in partnership with another company in Perth that they could recommend. Anyone in Adelaide needing to send their pets anywhere I really would recommend them they were fantastic.
  18. I have seen a job that I would like to apply for depending on when they want to fill it, it's in NSW Health with a closing date of end Sept so process could take a while...but before I contact them part of the process is to include a 'claim for position'. What on earth is that!!! I don't like to ask when I call as I don't want to appear dim !! I assume it is answering the selection criteria..has anyone else done one?

Bad Flyer! Tips for stop offs visiting UK

Hi I'm the same as you I don't really like it that much, but I read an article by a chap who teaches people like us not to be scared, he said you should liken a bumpy flight to a car driving over a bumpy road, clouds aren't smooth as we tend to think they are! We are heading back down under in November on the A380...have you seen the SIZE of that thing!!! However, if I want to get there then I just have to sit back and relax and try to enjoy it as much as I can. Also if you are travelling with an 8 year old her excitement will rub off and you will be too busy thinking of ways to keep her happy for the duration. :cute:

    One way insurance

  21. I may have asked this before! Has anyone secured a rental before they arrived in Oz? We are heading to Gosford any advice hints, tips gratefully received! If not can anyone recommend a holiday or caravan accommodation in that area that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? We will be arriving in early November.
  22. Hi I was thinking of registering for house sitting to give us somehwere to go when we arrive, do you meet the houseowners first or is it guaranteed once you have decided on which house you would like to sit?

    Securing a rental before arrival
