loubylou475
Hi all, well clearly I've been way too busy enjoying our new Aussie life and working hard as a couple of years ago I was on the site every day and you've just informed me it's updated and months since my last visit. For the record, we're so much more settled in Perth having been here 2 yrs 7 months, but the first 2 years are definitely the toughest. My question is, we've applied for PR (we came over on a long-stay business visa (old 457 subclass) and the employer has agreed to support 'our' application, ie confirm we've worked for them for 2 yrs, all costs will be incurred by us.... does anyone know what happens if you change employer during the period (up to 9 months they say) it takes for the residency application to move through the system? You can't apply for "residency" you can only apply for a visa and it is not clear which one you applied for. If it is the employer sponsored visa then of course this is an issue, however if it is regular skilled migration then it is fine, although not sure what you mean when you say your employer is "supporting" your application in this case. Sooo... yes, it would be good to know what visa you are referring too.

Rupert
Hi, the 186.....transition scheme... Well then no, you definitely cannot chnage employer whilst it is going through! That would be visa fraud.
