norah9
hi,we are making plans to go on an initial 457 visa for 2 years. If we decide to move back home before applying for a pr are we entitled to be reimbursed the money paid for super back home with us?? Thanks,
VERYSTORMY
Yes. You just need to get confirmation your visa is cancelled which can be obtained from DIAC when you leave and send it to the super fund.
NewBeginnings2012
The only thing to also consider is that you get taxed on the super. Does anyone know if you can leave your super in place and then claim an australia pension and convert it into sterling?
VERYSTORMY
Yes. At the moment. However, the rules change constantly and in two years your contribution is not going to result in much pension. Personally I am not a fan of super. In 5 years mine would have been better invested in a current account.
