aliandshane
Hi all, Just a quick query. We were granted a 176 state sponsored visa in July (before all changes) sponsored by WA. Hubby applied for a job with the government from the uk, we haven't moved yet, and was turned down because you needed to have citizenship or permanent residency to apply? We thought our 176 was perm residency, it states no exemptions. I think they have got it wrong, or is a 176 classed as temporary in their eyes??? Thanks Ali
bubbe2005
176 is a PR visa but I thought that to be able to work for the Australian government you need to be an Australian CITIZEN?
Mushahid
176 is a Permanent Resident Visa. But the visa has an obligation to work in the state which has sponsored for first 2 years.
