yorkiegirl
When I lived in WA I used to go to Avon Valley butchers http://www.avonvalleybeef.com.au
fourcorners
Depends what you mean by value? Maybe instead of looking for cheapest possible, instead look for good quality higher welfare meat and eat less of it. I know it's not very Australian of me to say so but you don't need to eat meat every day.
dmjg
Ask a good butcher about a hind quarter of beef. You pay one price per kilo and get all the cuts. You do need a big freezer! Our first one cost $400 and lasted 2 of us over a year, eating beef twice a week. About 60 kg I think. Have just brought another one. Same price! Same weight! Best thing was the butcher picked the best one in a two week period and hung it another week or so before chopping it up and packing it into sizes we wanted. Also we were able to choose types of roasts and steaks etc. quality was bloody good, much better than what you get at the supermarket or on a meal out.
