Blewyn
Finding it very difficult to gauge the market here in Brisbane. Is there an official website or service where one can look up the actual sold prices of properties over the last 5 years or so ?

Cerberus1
Don't know if there's anything for free, there's sites like myrp.com.au & homepriceguide.com.au but I think you've to pay for the data. A couple of years ago, Commonwealth bank created an augmented reality app for the iphone where you could point it at a property and it would tell you what that property sold for in the past, but I'm sure they had to remove the historical price data (probably after pressure from real estate agents)

Guest GeorgeD
Try this http://www.onthehouse.com.au/home/ This is the one we have used. It's free and seems to be accurate (it has registered all the recent prices of sales around us correctly)
Petals
Victoria is a hard State as they do put the sale prices, you have to contact the selling agent to find out and then you are in their sites ..................
