Im here on a temporary partner visa, does anyone know what happens if i dont receive my new passport before then, does my visa get cancelled?! surflen22 Posted August 29, 2012 Share Posted August 29, 2012 No your visa won't be cancelled! Just be sure to update DIAC with your new passport details when you get them. You need to apply at Australia Post and it takes around 2-3 weeks for your new passport to arrive. RockDr Posted August 29, 2012 Share Posted August 29, 2012 If your passport expires in November this year, you can renew now, and the new one will be valid until november +10 years, so might as well get it sorted now. (As long as it's less than 9months until your passport expiry, they'll add the time between application and expiry of the current passport onto the ten years of the new passport) As Surflen said, it doens't take too long to come through (though can be up to 6weeks).
