Tolga township is surrounded by farms, 4km from the main business centre of Atherton and is only 1 hour from Cairns. THE FARMER EMPLOYS AND PAYS YOU FROM $19 OR MORE PER HOUR. Work is approximately eight hours per day (5 or 6 days per week). Seasonal fruit or vegetable picking, for all of the year. The amount of work varies during the seasons. Weekly accommodations rate is $195.00 - this includes providing work AND transport to and from the farm. Tolga Country Lodge is very clean, roomy, large communal kitchen, library, internet, cable TV, laundry facility and large gardens. We also provide a courtesy bus each Tuesday for grocery shopping. We need you to be on site at Tolga Lodge before allocating work. Enquire only if you are prepared to do hard farm work, mostly outdoors in tropical conditions or in packing sheds. Generally early morning starts and work availability is dependent on weather.
