There are two new cases of Hendra virus in Queensland, ABC Radio reports.

The cases are at Cawarral, near Rockhampton in central Queensland, and Innisfail in north Queensland.

Rockhampton vet Dr Alister Rodgers died after being exposed to horses with Hendra in September 2009 after another outbreak at Cawarral.

A Biosecurity Queensland spokeswoman would not confirm the reports of the two new cases. Queensland's Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Rick Symons and Queensland's Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young will give a media conference in Brisbane at 11am (AEST) today.
