silencio
Hi everyone, now I've settled in Adelaide and I was wondering joining a private health insurance just to give me peace of mind. I'm a permanent resident since February and checked different brochures and surfed on the internet for special offers. Which were your experiences with private health insurances? I read about HFC, Bupa, HIF, Medibank, nib...It makes it hard to decide. Recommandations are welcome. Cheers, Rabeah
Fashionably Late
We are with HCF and have been quite pleased with them. They pay my claims rapidly and cover a lot of things that were important to us.
Rossmoyne
Some Health Insurance providers are a commercial entity with share holders to cater for, and some are "Funds" that are not run for profit. Depends what you prefer really. Also the different companies and funds offer different rebates for items, so consider doing a comparison through www.iselect.com.au to find the best policy for you. I am in WA and with HIF (a Fund) and have never had any issues with them at all. Health Insurance is a minefield, so good luck with your investigations.
