We are a small family (Mum, Dad and 9 mth old boy).

We live on an island near Brisbane in a very remote location. Access to our house is via beach driving and is dependent on tide and weather conditions. The nearest island township, resort and ferry services are 40 minutes drive away. The house is solar powered, has rain water tanks and a vegetable garden.

We are quiet souls with a passion for creativity, good healthy food, gardening, photography and the natural environment. We enjoy the solitude and serenity of living in a peaceful paradise. Dad works full-time and Mum is returning to part-time work soon.

We are seeking someone to assist in looking after our 9 mth old son and doing some general housework. The fortnightly schedule and hours are negotiable with scope for at least 5 days off per fortnight, with the option of staying on the island or travelling back to Brisbane.

This role would ideally suit someone who is looking to experience life with an Australian family in a wilderness setting on a remote island.

We are offering the following:

  • Full board with own room including queen bed.
  • All meals and food supplies.
  • Wireless internet access.
  • Ferry transfers (to and from Brisbane once a fortnight).

[Please note: no wage is offered with this role]

Due to the remote location of our house, there is limited opportunity for socialising outside of our house and family. We are seeking someone who is able to create their own entertainment in their spare time through creativity, reading, hiking, exploring, sun bathing or fishing.

We are seeking an au pair who is:

  • quiet, independent and relaxed.
  • responsible and reliable.
  • able to live in an isolated environment.
  • a non-smoker.
  • able to commit for at least 3 months.

If this sounds like the perfect role for you, please email moorgumpin@gmail.com and include the following:

1. Your current CV / resume and a photo.

2. One page letter of introduction outlining your suitability, interests and availability.

It does, but then I suppose you will have people doing it for the free board and lodgings, I know I would if I was young and single

They don't mention a WWC ... they'd have to pay you something ... what's the point of going to Brissy once a fortnight if you don't have any money to spend - no compensation for lack of social life and no other people to talk too.
