Bridgeman
I have never in my life ever suffered with indigestion, but since coming to Oz find I am a frequent sufferer. It could just be coincidence, but has anyone else experienced this? Bread, cakes, and even wine (horrors!) seem to bring it on.
Guest jonescl35
I have suffered both here and UK, bread wine and cakes for me too, also pastry even pizza bases. Try wholemeal or wholewheat bread (even wheat free), make your own pizza bases and take zantac before drinking wine (it was the one thing I was unwilling to substitute). N ot sure how long you have been there but I found it all got worse when I recently arrived which I put down to the greater socialising and more drinking I did there ha ha. They sell amazing heartburn tablets I cant remember what they are called, they sell in all shops, they are blue and orange packets a bit like tums but they are chewy, they are the best tablets I have ever tried, two tablets and you are back in wine drinking shape. Good luck
jonmitch
Its a coincidence. Taking Zantac to enable wine drinking??? Mmmm, (conflict of interest: I'm a gastroenterologist)
Guest tandcmum
i have also noticed i have had more indegestion than before since being here, however i found it was bananas that were causing it, now i love bananas and never have a problem with them in the uk but here they are killing me, someone said it could be the fact they are fresher so left on the tree until ripe unlike uk bananas which are picked very green, so the bananas in oz are able to produce more of the acid stuff that causes indegestion. Not sure if this is the truth or not but it only seems to be bananas that are affecting me.

Good luck I have been using Zantac and will have a look out for the other tablets. Also not willing to give up wine!
