  1. Firstly hello Forum, this is my first post and thanks in advance for any replies that are given, no doubt you're answering the same questions over and over. I wont go on forever, I'll keep it short and sweet. Just got back from Brisbane and Melbourne on a scouting trip to see if me and my family like Australia, we do and would idealy like to move to Brisbane, but we're prepared to move anywhere initially. I went for a job interview whilst in Brisbane, got the job on the basis i get to Australia lol, the business owner will sponsor me but ideally I'd prefer to just come on and be free to choose myself, wht are peoples thoughts on that? I've passed the points test, my job title is either construction project manager or fitter, the whole thing is way over my head hence why im looking for suggestions on a register agent, I will answer any questions, be gentle!! thanks james
  2. Hi to all, Firstly thank you for looking at my Thread, Myself my husband and two children are currently packing in the UK and are looking forward to the move to Brisbane. I have gained a position in a professional Podiatry Clinic and I am due to Start as soon as my paperwork is finalised and I arrive in Brisbane. My Husband on the other hand is looking for work and has a few areas of expertise. 13 years British Military - Transport & Logistic. Section Commander - Fuel and General transport Manager. World wide operations. Many years experience in the transport industry - Scheduling and operating machinery - HGV licence with tanker and articulated skills. 5 years working as a Head of KS4/Deputy Centre Manager/Teaching and working with challenging dis-engaged Students KS3/KS4. I was hoping for some one to come to my husbands rescue and offer him some work... I know I am hoping times are tough and jobs few and far between. Still no harm in trying. If any one reads this and has any information or guidance in any matters relating to our move or work in Brisbane then please get in touch. I was looking at buying a car on arrival and was shocked at the cost in comparison to the UK, our car in the UK (Audi A4) is double in Australia, this worries me, any one had a positive experience with buying a car or could steer me in the right direction please.. Looking to live either at the Spring Field Lakes or Forest Lake, any comments or advice please... Another concern is the two kids and the Schools, few so much to think about.. any help please.... would love to make some friends prior to our arrival, fun loving family who like to spend time with others as to us friends are very important. Thank you for reading my thread, look forward to meeting up soon Amanda & Darran , Ellie mai and Corey.:cute:
