  1. Were you living in Australia on an expired passport? I understand the travel and ID requirements but irrespective of those, is living in Australia an issue?
  2. Hi guys, currently I am an Indian citizen and I will be eligible to apply for Australian citizenship in July 2022. However, my passport is expiring in May 2022 so I am wondering if I can: Legally live in Australia on an expired passport Apply for citizenship on an expired passport I have no intention of traveling for the next 2 years and I see no situation where I might need a valid passport. I already have a VicRoads license. The reason why I am asking is India doesn't allow dual citizenship so upon grant I will have to surrender it anyway so if I don't have to renew I will be able to save ~$300 + agent fees (if you don't want to deal with confusing Indian bureaucracy).
  3. Hi guys, My grant came in on Thursday. I appreciate all the info & timelines on this forum and so sharing my timeline in my signature. Cheers and all the best!
  4. Hi mate, i know someone who got a grant yesterday with roughly the same timeline: 186 chef DE Applied on 16 October 2020 Nomination approved on 14 July 2021 Visa granted on 15 July 2021
  5. Hi guys, Fairly generic question - in your experience, after receiving an s56 request for fairly straightforward documents like international PCC and medicals (assuming you don't have an adverse criminal background or health conditions), what are the chances of your 186 DE being refused? For example, in my case, I had applied for my 186 (DE - Developer Programmer), my nomination was approved in 1 week and on the same day, I received a request for, Indian PCC and health examination. Both have been completed (PCC uploaded and health section shows no action required) and now the status shows Further Assessment. So my question is - is it possible that the CO might turn around and ask for more information like work experience, etc. not relevant to the previous request or am I correct in assuming my application will likely be approved at some point in the near future?
