  1. Can you post your timeline, and which state are you in? And when did your medical clear? Waiting for mine too patiently knowing they have everything.
  2. I think most reasonable employers understand. If your employer offers support for TRT, maybe you could offer to personally pay the difference for DE (e.g. for skills assessment) so they are not disadvantaged. Then it works well for both of you.
  3. Does anyone have any idea on how long a 186 DE visa grant takes once medicals have cleared (when that's the last thing left, only s56 I had)? Appreciate it can vary massively but it seems some people get a grant within 7-14 days, which seems too good to be true when some people wait months!
  4. You are much better to do 186 DE rather than 186 TRT for the following - You can do DE now rather than waiting to be eligible for TRT Doing it now/earlier protects you from the Government changing the rules/visas etc. (e.g. if your job becomes ineligible for PR) Processing time for DE is typically much faster (currently 5-11m for DE, 13-17m for TRT) DE requires a skills assessment, though this is not much extra cost given the benefits in my opinion Getting PR earlier avoids employment risk if your current employer goes bust etc. I think most would agree you should seek to get PR as soon as you can, wherever possible. You should look at the below links, the pages for TRT and DR are useful and outline what you need in detail. It is good to get collecting the information sooner rather than later (i.e. collecting references/doing English tests) so you are ready to apply when the time arrives. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/employer-nomination-scheme-186 Hope that helps
  5. Do you work for a large employer with high turnover? Interesting to see if this may impact processing speed
  6. Thanks for the information - very useful. 186 has two "types", either "Direct Entry" steam or "Temporary Residence Transition" stream - the first one is usually quicker so it's useful to know. It would be stated on your visa grant or application.
  7. Thanks for the info, what job role/code did you have, and which state are you in? Also, 186 DE or TRT? Any idea also when your medical cleared in the system? Thank you!
  8. Hey! Were you 186 DE or 186 TRT, and which state? Also assume you work for an employer with high turnover?
  9. How do I check the status of my nomination and if it's been approved? Added my visa application to my ImmiAccount but cannot see the nomination.
  10. Hi Everyone! First post on here but it's been great reading about everyone's experiences. I'm on a 482 visa in Sydney and my employer is now putting me through the 186 DE stream to obtain my PR. The application is expected to be lodged in the next 1-2 weeks, given I have all documents. However, I am wondering: Can 186 DE visa approvals come back relatively quickly? 4-8 months wait time as seen online seems bit a long to approve me when I should be a simple low risk case: single applicant, work for a multinational (who struggled to recruit locally), no children or spouse and generally quite a boring visa application (i.e. no criminal records, only ever lived here and the UK etc). Whether it it worth flying interstate to get a medical done (Sydney wait times can be very long right now with Bupa)? If DOHA have reviewed my visa and the only item is the clean medical, would an approval come back quickly post Bupa? Occupation: External Auditor (and also now professionally qualified in Australia, in addition to the UK) Citizenship: United Kingdom Appreciate the above are elusive but would welcome comments if anyone has recently had a 186 approval as either an "External Auditor" or "Accountant (General)", given that these are generally quite similar. Thank you!
