@Alan Collett - I have been allocated the queue date as 14 Nov 2018. This is the same date as my application lodgement date. @MillieB @Alan Collett- Screenshot from the letter below, showing both dates.- 3,180 replies

@MillieB - I also feel that it must be a human error - I strongly suggest you write to them with details (if you haven't already).- 3,180 replies

Yes the queue date has been specified same as application date - 14 Nov 2018 You may want to write to them about your case. Maybe the case officer made a mistake in assigning the queue date.- 3,180 replies

Subclass 143 Application Date - 14/11/2018 Received Queue Date email today after 5 years. I know this doesn't change much, but glad to see that they are at least looking at the applications and assigning queue dates.- 3,180 replies

FYI - Minister's response (typical political BS!) to Petition EN2535 (which was signed by more than 70,000 people). Infuriating to say the least. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Ministerial Response" link - https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN2535- 3,180 replies

Whether we will see a positive outcome or not, it's important to try to do something about it. The petition has almost 51000 signatures as at 15th May 2021 10AM, and we still have 4 days more. I sincerely request you all to consider signing the petition, and convince your friends to do the same. I agree. While the outlook is bad and nothing seems to be happening in our (103/143 and other visa applicants and families) favour, we have to keep making noise, and keep doing something or the other to get some attention. Yes the odds are against all of us for sure, but we can only keep trying.

Question for those who have received a "queue date" (I'm guessing that their paperwork is acceptable to the dept), or those who applied for 143 and got to next steps successfully- Did you guys submit Form 80 and Form 1221 (both related to Personal particulars for character assessment) along with the other application forms ? I'm just wondering if I should send these extra forms as well - just in case. Any inputs would be highly appreciated! Thank you!

@Arti - 10+ years would only be for any new applicants. Since your application is from July 2018, it will be earlier for sure (same as mine - mine was Nov 2018). So don't lose hope yet. In fact note the comment from the dept in my post above - they are 'assessing' the application from June 2018 right now, so you may here something (about the assessment only) soon. Fingers crossed !

Link to the response that I received to the FOI request I had lodged with the department recently - https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/foi/files/2021/fa-210200253-document-released.PDF Summary - 1 - More than 56K applications are on-hand currently (See part 3). So any new applications going forward will easily take more than 10-12 years (and not 6 years as claimed on the dept website) 2 - Part 1 shows the (slow) pace of processing the applications - number of applications processed every month. 3 - (see the small note at the end of the document) - The Department is currently assessing for a place in the queue, Contributory Parent (Permanent) (subclass 143) and Contributory Parent (Temporary) (subclass 173) visa applications that were lodged in June 2018 and is releasing from the queue for final processing applications that were lodged in May 2016.- 3,180 replies

I'm with you! Rather than worrying about what whims and fancies our politicians might have, I would rather fight to make the system more transparent, and make it easier for others like me to make their life and family decisions based on the real information.- 3,180 replies

Hi @NATHALIA - My situation was similar to yours. No you do not have to fill 47A for your mum, because her details would come under the "Part F - Details of Partner" of the form 47PA. So the only forms applicable for you would be 47PA and 40 (Sponsorship form) and 956 (optional if you want to be the point of contact for them). Hope this helps.

Contributory Visa Lobby Group - exactly what I had in mind when I asked the question before... this is great stuff! You have written a very nice and succinct submission, great work! I urge everyone else to do the same. Let's try to do everything we can to make it easier for us and our families!- 3,180 replies

This is amazing, you've really taken lots of efforts! It's shocking to see the lack of responses from the ministers and politicians, but I can see a clear pattern there. One way would be to approach the opposition shadow ministers and MPs.. I'll look into it.- 3,180 replies
