    Hi JessiQ, I had the same situation just like yours, I worked as a network security specialist previously. When I did my skills assessment it came out as "Not Suitable for migration". Then I submitted another document from my previous employer and it came out right. But ACS took 4 years out of work experience. I don't know what to do next, so I jumped in here.

    Thanks for the explanation, Adam. You're right that the answer to this question is subjective. However, I gave immi helpline a call and they asked me to look online and there was no straightforward answer from them. I have already applied for the visa so I think I will leave it to the fine sense of judgement of DHA and case officer.

    Thanks for sharing that, I was aware of that website which states “3 years relevant experience” but it doesn’t say that experience has to be approved by ACS.

    Well it states “have a 3 years relevant work experience” which I have according to the documents provided by my previous companies but ACS has some different opinion altogether. Strange thing is my company’s “migration specialist” said that it’ll be fine. Wondering if I can get any other opinion. p.s I have applied for the visa and done my medicals.

    Hi All, I have been a silent reader for quite some time now. I was intrigued by the question asked by a user regarding the work experience. My story is that I have 4.5 years of full-time work experience in one of the IT fields. I did my ACS and it came as suitable for migration under ANZSCO code but they took 4 years out of my work experience. I am left with 4 months of “valid experience” which is unfair honestly. My company nominated me for visa 186 and I have applied for the same in July. Does anyone know that how my work experience will be counted in this situation? Will it impede in getting my permanent residency. P.S. - I have attached all the work experience related documents like payslips, tax statements, bank account statements and employment reference letters. I have also talked to a registered MARA agent and he didn’t sound confident to me. Any help is much appreciated.
