  1. I should have been clear upfront they were granted bridging visa based on SC804 last year and are in private insurance since then .. now that they have lived here for about an year they feel it would be good to have Medicare facility that’s part of SC864 and were thinking if this switch of visas is possible with fee adjustment but as I gauge from responses there won’t be any fee adjustment and it would be a fresh application . Thanks for your prompt response!
  2. Hi, SC804 (non-contributory) was granted last year for my parents. Now that they have lived for an year in Australia and feel more settled they plan to switch to SC864(contributory). I order to do so need few clarifications - 1. Do we need to fill any form to surrender SC804? 2. As it will be a new application for SC864 is there a way some fee can be adjusted from what was paid for SC804 last year ? thanks in advance!
  3. Hi, Just would like to confirm if SC804 Visa category is still active for applying? Thanks!
  4. Hi Experts, Would be a great help if you could clarify below - My parents have entered Australia on e600 visitor visa with condition 8558- Maximum 12 months stay in 18 months. Does 8558 condition on their visitor visa stops them from applying SC804 Aged parents visa ? Thanks heaps in advance!
  5. Hi, My parents entered Australia back in Jan 2020 on 3 months Tourist Visa owing to Covid-19 situation I filed for Onshore visitor visa for 12 months in April 2020 , however they were granted visa only until Dec 20 ( 3 months less from 12 months visa that was applied for). At this stage if I file another 12 months onshore Visitor visa can i expect this to be granted or is there a constraint that wont be extended beyond Dec-20 ? Info - I posted another question related to 804 PR earlier which @rammygirl has responded to her response I just want to avoid travel to India so thinking about a visa that would allow them about an year of additional stay in Australia.
  6. Sure thats correct, they applied for a new visit visa onshore in apr 2020 which from ur response makes them eligible. Ye thats correct there is a lot of though process going in that "real question" u referred.. Lets see how it goes. Thanks for ur response.
  7. Hi, Just want to clarify, my parents entered australia on 3 mnths visitor visa back in jan2020. Owing to covid-19 they had to file visitor visa extension. While they are at present on extended visitor visa can they now plan to file 804 aged parents visa?
  8. Thanks all for clarifying this bit.
  9. Ye thats not the case. i actually did not want a bridging visa n wanted clarity that Sc143 would certainly not issue a bridging visa as they would like to file the application therafter stay in india for most of the time during the app processing period.
  10. Hi All, As my parents are in Australia as of now getting Indian PCC from here requires original passports n taking prolonged time owing to covid situation, as they would be travelling back in about 4 months to india anyways. Can I plan to defere PCC submission by about 6 months while still file SC143 today just to get in the queue? Would it be any use?
  11. @ Marisawright Its like not one size fits all kind of situation have read quite a bit about each category of parents visa realised more of tailored on the scale of cost involved n benefits. Obviously the cost involved in SC143 is huge but again it comes down to do u want medicare coverage or not.
  12. Hi guys thanks for your response.. I am aware of other visa like SC864 etc.. And have made up my mind to fIle SC143 however just want to know can i file it while they arr onshore or is ther any restriction that SC143 visa can be filed offshore only.
  13. Thanks @Bridgeman basically the question is to have clarity on "filing the visa " can my parents file this SC143 VISA while they are in australia or they will have to be offshore to file this visa.
  14. Hi! With SC143 as its stated this may be filed from onshore, if i go for this one while my parents are currently here on visitor visa ( with no conditions on their visa). Can they still travel back to India normally while their current visitor visa expires. Or would they be put on a bridging visa just because they applied SC143 onshore?

  16. Could you please suggest what document is required for "Balance of Family Test"? I am currently planning for a commonwealth statutory declartaion certifying same. Should that be okay?
  17. Great thanks thats useful. Lastly, for PCC requirements my parents are residents of india but have spent about less that 2 years in UK as part of their muktiple short trips in last 10 years. Would they need to provide PCC from UK in this case?
  18. Great thanks. As you said "provided they are able to clear medical at the end“? In the situation they are not able to clear medical can they still keep on staying the same way in australia like on private insurance? or does this mean they would need to leave? Thanks much in advance.
  19. Hi, For SC804 Aged parent visa i am aware that the timeline is enormous 20+ years may be.. Would like to know if a person is fit enough to live this period in Aus staying on private insurance then after this period once the visa would be granted would that person be eligible for medicare / pension/ aged carr benefits etc? As part of PR?
  20. Interesting.. Could you pls point me to the link where i can see this invitation queue. Thanks!
  21. 8 years? Sc864 has got a tentative time of 2 to 3 years isn't it?
  22. Hi, As my parents are here on visitor visa I am planning to file 864. My dad is 67 and mom 64 years of age. Just with the documemtation i would like to clarify all they have in original is their passports rest all are scanned copies for their id proof. Is there a neef to attest tge copies before visa submission or just simple scans are enough. As i understand they would be put in bridging visa and in normal circunstances wont be able to travel back on BVA to get originals at any stage. BVB could be an option but would like to have clarity at this stage. Thanks!
