  1. Just thought I'll share this in case it helps or clears some doubts. If your police clearances Australian or overseas have expired or if health examination conducted has expired - as of the current situation, you need NOT go and do all that over again. Its better saving the hassle/money and waiting for a RFI from the department. They seem to be a bit understanding that due to COVID, processing has slowed down and documents like police clearances/health examinations may cross validity. By experience, our Australian police checks, overseas police checks and health examination expired by over 2 months and the visa status went straight from "Received" to "Granted" without a RFI in the entire application process. In fact we just got our new Australian police clearances and overseas police clearances letters late last week and our MA was going to upload the new documents later today but he received the grant notice early this morning. Hope this helps ease some of your anxiety..!!!
  2. Hey guys Just received my 186 visa grant. Beautiful start to a freaking cold wet windy morning. Best of luck to all you waiting and hang in there. The govt is slow but still working.
  3. That's a really hard one mate. There's not much you can do but just speak to employer directly and inform him of your plans. Obviously its a big risk as he may then say well there's nothing in it for them at the end. It basically depends on your current relationship with them and how understanding you think they are. It also depends on who paid for the entire process. I am in quite a similar situation and I had made my intentions clear about quitting once I get PR before applying for the 482. We were in agreement as long as I bear the visa application charges and MA charges (MA recommended by me to the company). I've been with this company for 5yrs as well only difference is we're considered a essential business so haven't' stopped full time work even for a day through this period. I know exactly how you feel about wanting to maintain good relations and leaving on a good note. Maybe just be honest with them and tell them what you would like to do and then maybe work out a deal. They may say put in another year after PR and then you can quit.
  4. It depends. If your first 457 visa was lodged before 18th April 2017 then you are eligible to go from a new 482 onto a 186 TRT through provisional/grandfathering arrangements. Speaking from similar experience. Only thing is are those arrangements still valid or have they expired ? iI'm not too sure. I heard they were due to expire early 2020. My opinion would be to somehow apply directly with 186 nomination application and visa application which will get you the bridging visa at least and then you/your company can attach more docs as you have them ready but should be done soon after lodging. There's a risk involved here that they may decide soon after the application is submitted based on the docs provided.
  5. Hey guys. Nomination just gotten approved. One step further. Now awaiting visa decision
  6. Does the department entertain any tele-queries from applicants or MA's ? Like if the application has been assigned to CO ? We haven't a clue whats the status and have not even had any requests for more info...!!!
  7. Well to be fair, yours should be earlier is its DE. Mine is TRT which is usually a bit longer than DE "according to their website"
  8. As per my MA and I did the same, a letter from the employer confirming your employment status remains full time and there has been no affect on your position, roles and responsibilities and salary. And that there is still a genuine need for your position in the company. Also providing payslips for last few months till date will help proving your status.
  9. Wonder when our nomination will get approved having applied in Nov'19. Not a single response from dept. or request for more info/documents. MA even uploaded status update requests recently and emailed same employer nomination section but no reply. Also, uploaded letter confirming full time employment through the entire COVID period with no affect on position, salary . Just having the nomination approved feels like a dream right now.

Sorry for the extensive timeline but it feels like a complicated story/process to me overall but maybe others have something similar..????
  11. "response by tomorrow"..??? Did they only give you 24hrs to get back with an answer saying "yes" or "no" or have they requested for proof of full time employment and docs to support genuine need ?
