  1. I thought of posting this to avoid any confusion for immigration's cut
  2. @JeremyNg266 Honestly, they did not ask me for further documentation yet. However, I am still studying full-time student, living with my sister, work under 20 hours per week in school days, and receiving roughly every 3-month money from my parents account and I am using their bank card here in Australia if needed. What about you, I am wondering how you would answer the dependent questionnaire? Thanks
  3. @JeremyNg266 Please check my previous post, I think we are in the same boat.
  4. I just saw this on the Visa tracker website but I am not sure if this is 100% true though. @canemk Correction: Sorry i am not sure if that's April or May
  5. Hi @Jagdeep1, Unfortunately, you have lodged your application after 19/11/2016. Thus you would get affected by the new rules (Please refer to the attached image after changes) But in my case, I have applied in July 2016, so I will not be affected by these changes as there is no upper age limit (i am 24 years old) and still dependent on my parents by studying full time. (check the attached image before the changes) @Tulip1 I have asked a registered immigration agent about this matter and he has informed me that it does not matter if you are over 25 years, as much as you could prove the dependency on your parents. @Alan Collett it would be great if you could confirm what I am saying. Thanks
  6. Hi Mily,

I am a dependent child applicant, and I just saw ur sister's case and its very similar to my case. i have been studying in Australia for the past 5 years. I have applied for my 143 visa on 29 July 2016 (which was before the changed has been applied for upper age limit ).

I finished my bachelor in 2019 and i am currently working casually (up to 20 hours a week) and also doing my masters which would finish on June 2020 which would be before they request the additional document.

Do you reckon to apply for PhD or just wait as I can be 3 months without being a student?

what sort of answers did u write on the dependent questionnaire for ur sister to be granted for questions like

1: is she is going to work in the future?

2: is she work part-time or casual job?

i will appreciate ur reply thanks!

Sorry for late reply because i dont check my message often

my sister after she graduated her bachelor, she enroll in tafe for diploma course just to make sure her student visa is valid & easy to show immi that she was still dependent child all the time. You shouldnt stop study & do nothing in the time of waiting for visa 143 because immi will ask u for a reasonable reason. Find some course which is cheap to enroll & keep your student visa.
I told my sister to enroll in the 1 yr course as i think by that time she would have visa grant. But i was wrong & she had to extend her visa twice. It cost more $. So plan ahead a bit futher just in case u know.

Btw Waiting time will b longer now coz immi stop process the application for at least 2 mons because of ncov19.

my sister is still studying at tafe . her new semester has just started recently & we paid the same amount of $ as local student, not international price.

      good luck.

& with questionaire .... my sister’s answer is very simple. Keep saying she will depend on my parents’s financial support , keep study for higher degree & dont want to get married soon in the near future.

& she just work casual on her holiday cash in hand lol

  7. I am still dependent on my parents as I am still l a full-time student doing my master's degree in which they pay for its international fees. I will turn 25 in November this year. I do not see it as unusual old to be dependent as I am still a full-time student if you know what I mean @Tulip1
  8. I am 24 years old, however, my lawyer told me that I will be fine as I applied before the date of the changes. Even though, there is a website which confirms my lawyer speaking: https://www.acacia-au.com/including-family-members-changes-from-19-November-2016.php Could you check it and see if am I wrong ?
  9. Hi All, I am enquiring about the 143 Contributory Parent visa in the Dependent Child matter. I have already applied with my family as a dependent child, and the visa has been acknowledged on the 29/07/2016. The rule at that time was: the dependent child can be under 25 years old ( or no age limit, not sure), but it needs a proof of dependency to be granted, after that, they have changed the rule on the 17/11/2016 as the dependent child could only be over 18 and under 23 years old. My question is, am I still be included because I have applied before the rule has been changed or they would reject me as the new law would be applied? Help Please Thanks!
  10. I am 24 years old dependent on my family and I am still a full-time student doing my master's degree which will end in June this year. I am not too sure if am I need to keep studying after that or no as I am expecting for them to ask for the further documents in 2 months time The thing that there is no proof if they would accept me as I applied before the changes have been made.
