    yes, i did straightaway as i don't trust centrelink... i didn't get any acknowledgement other than an auto respond from pvc1, any additional email sent with application ids/name/reference number had the same acknowledgement email, but no reply from my case officer. thanks Kath, I'll try again, i'm okie with delay in processing, but delay without asking for more info or communicate with applicant just seems strange.

    as you can see, 2nd vac request is not based on date order, so you might get lucky and jump ahead of lots of people

    Gratz, thanks for sharing. As life is gradually resuming to normal, hopefully more parents can finally reunite with their children.

    i guess the short answer is applications submitted before may 2016 are in the final stage of process, but it's really hard to tell if they follow strict date order. Hopefully you'll all have some good news very soon.

    Hi, i would imagine if they take your money, they will give you a receipt. Don't hold your breath, immi department stopped issuing 2nd vac when the boarder was closed. We shall hear some good news when everything resume Hope this helps.

    I think they are still processing applications, requesting further docs, it just means no more 2nd vac will be issued. Once resumed, 2nd vac requested will be issued in application date order. I would imagine, there will be quite a lot "ready to go" applications by the end of this crisis, hopefully, we'll see a higher planning level for family stream next FY.

    Just to clarify, it is Feb 2016 not 16th Feb. I agree with Kath, when Australia imposed travel ban on China, immigration office stopped issuing 2nd vac request and permanent visa to all offshore Chinese applicants. There are exceptions, but I am not going into details here. With the latest border closure, I assume all offshore 143 applications are now on hold, people might still hear from their case officers asking additional docs etc, but there will be very few 2nd vac requests and visa grant notices. I hope everyone stay safe, follow the social distancing rules and avoid gathering. good luck

    yeah, that's great, all the best, lots of people having issue with Centrelink at the moment, but in most cases, it the issue at Centrelink's end.

    just out of curiosity, have you been to china recently? According to pvc1's auto response, they are now reviewing applications received in feb 2016, it seems strange that they missed your application, unless like cafenades said, your case is special or have dependents involved?

    Haha check my timeline, the waiting is killing me. Lots of applications who applied after me got their visa already. Not sure what’s going on here.

    FYI mate, S56 is now at end of April, so you will hear something from immi soon

    I suspected the same, rang the immi hotline and got told parent visas are business as usual. However I doubt this because on recent 2nd vac notices, immi department clearly says not to travel to China.
