  1. Hello @Martina

I heard that VIC rejects a lot of Pre-Invite nomination applications. I received my Pre-invite on 16th Jan, 2020 and lodged my nomination application already. Everyone is saying that not to make big plans as VIC is very choosy and most of the pre-invites do not turn into final invites. So, I'm just worried about that. May I know how much did VIC take to give you the final invite after you receive the pre-invite?
    Thanks!

Finally got it and best wishes to you for your future stay in Australia!!

Hope I get it soon as well lol

Thanks dear! Though it's just a pre-invite but still a ray of hope.

You will definitely get it soon. Fingers crossed 🙂

Does anyone know how long does ANMAC take to complete their assessment before you can apply for an EOI?

ANMAC usually takes 4 weeks to complete the assessment. However the time period can vary if submitted documents are incomplete. Once you have received skill assessment outcome, you can then apply for an EOI.

Yeah, typo-ed, was distracted when i wrote the 489.

That's good for you, I think you can also apply for Tasmania? Well, tomorrow's the 11th, so fingers and toes crossed for you.

I'm also in the same category of RN as you but with only 3.5 years of experience. I can only do the 189, the 190 in VIC and the 491 in TAS. It's going to be a lot tougher for me.

The invitation rounds for this month already got issued today. Please check Iscah's update below:

    https://www.iscah.com/unofficial-skill-select-results-10th-january-2020-189s-491s/

Also, I believe you need job offer for TAS 190 & 491, isn't it?

And are you offshore or onshore?

Yeah, RN (critical care and emergency) and NEC have limited availability and is required to have stayed in NSW for a year. The additional requirement is not enforced on RNs of other disciplines. Does that mean that a lot of RN from critical care, emergency and nec background are applying?

"The additional requirement for these occupations is to be living in NSW, and to have been employed in NSW for at least one year, in the nominated occupation."

Have you looked into the 489 visa?

You meant 491 right? the skilled regional visa?

I'm actually hoping if I will get VIC 190 seeing my points (90 with ss) so I guess I will wait for another month before opting for 491 visa. Also, Being offshore I might not be eligible for all the states for 491, the ones where I can apply came out to be SA & NSW. But I really wish i get from VIC, so waiting as of now.

Yes I know how expensive it is 😫 is it true NSW has such a condition for nurses? That must be new I've never heard of it need to do some googling.

Yes. I don't know if it is applicable for all categories of RN or not but for my job code (254415), there is this additional criteria. Please find the link below for the same.

Have you submitted your EOI for 189 too? Or NSW 190 as well? As far as I know, what you're saying is true - no one will sponsor an offshore nurse. Maybe consider arriving on student visa and try to find sponsorship on the spot?

Yes, I have submitted EOI for 189 as well and 190 NSW and EOI for 190 VIC is a separate one. Do you think I should withdraw my 190 NSW EOI because anyway I don't stand any chance of invitation from the state as they need one year onshore exp.

Also, I don't want to spend more money by coming on student visa since I have already spent a lot on the bridging program and you already know bridging program costs you a fortune.

Applying offshore won't affect your invitation or visa processing time.

Please don't be mistaken. The states usually want you to have a job offer only when you're moving interstate, so onshore.

I'm actually shocked to see that you're still waiting with your points Pooja! I'm really sorry to hear that, it seems like they limited invitations and grants massively. Hoping that you'll hear from them soon 🤞

    Hello @Martina
I'm shocked too. Recently my points increased for 190 because of completion of 5 years for my overseas work exp and now I'm at 85+5 ss points for 190 VIC with D.O.E as 05/01/2020. I think the reason being I'm offshore but as you said it doesn't really matter.
I have been trying so hard to secure a job on TSS visa but have been facing rejections from all over the places as nobody is willing to sponsor an overseas nurse. And being offshore I don't even have much options. I feel so much frustrated. 😣

Does anybody here knows if any age care facility/hospital is giving sponsorship in any of the states? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

I think offshore takes longer than onshore, but I'm not 100% sure about this. I think that for some states you need a job offer to apply from offshore.

That's true that you need Job offer letter to apply for some states but for 190 VIC, there is no such condition, you just need 2 years post reg exp which can be from overseas. But I'm not sure if invitation chance for offshore candidates takes longer than onshore candidates or not. Since states do not share their respective invites publicly, it is very difficult to comment on this.
I have a friend who is onshore with 80+5ss points and EOI dating Sept, 2019 and he is also waiting for an invite.

Hi there, I’ve just submitted vic190 with 5.8 yrs experience recognized by ANMAC , total mark 75 + 5ss, how many chance of getting pre-invitation in 2months time or how long I may need to wait for ?? Still thinking of up my English to superior but probably gonna take some time tho.

    Hello!

No one can predict your State Invite. I have submitted EOI for 190 VIC with 80+5ss points (9/08/2019) but I'm still waiting for an invite. May I know your job code? Mine is 254415 (Critical Care & Emergency).

    Thanks!

  12. Hey Guys!

I'm an offshore Registered Nurse (254415), applied for 190 VIC with EOI date-9/8/2019 at 85 points (Including SS points). I have been waiting for a pre-invite from VIC since a very long time. Not sure, at what points and when VIC sends out invitations. I don't have any employment offer letter from VIC and I guess, you actually don't need this if applying from offshore. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
I was wondering if there is anyone in a similar boat? Any comments/feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

So this means, I've to apply for state sponsorship 491 visa without job. Also expression of intrest, is this I will apply after skill assessment and after submitting EOI, n state will nominate me then I will apply for visa or state will apply for visa as there will be no job.

    Thanks

Only after your ANMAC skills assessment, you are eligible to apply for EOI. After EOI is applied, you will have to wait for the invitation from the state, once nominated, you will have to accept it and apply for the Visa. State won't be doing it for you.

    Hi there,

I would like to know how long it will take for the modified skill assessment as a nurse.

    Thank you

Depends on your documentation also. If ANMAC requires more doumentation for your work, the time period may extend. However 4-6 weeks is the average amount of time they take to give you the result. I got mine in correct 4 weeks of time. Good Luck! 🙂

hello there  as a family we went to oz two and half years ago.....fell in love. I'm a nurse with 12 years experience, came home and topped up my diploma to a degree. now finished. really want to give it a go on the 189. do I need to take an English test?

Yes, if you are on overseas trained nurse, you gotta write IELTS/PTE not only for your PR process but in order to get registered with AHPRA as a RN.

    Hello,

I'm claiming 5 points for my overseas experience.

May I know when did you applied for the EOI and are you onshore or offshore?

    Thanks!

    Applied in August. I'm onshore.

    Cool!

I'm an offshore candidate. I applied for 189 in July and 190 in August. Hoping to get something after November. Do update if you get an invite from VIC.

    Thanks!

Of course it can be overseas experience. However, this experience must be recognised by ANMAC as far as I'm concerned. They'll recommend to the government how many years they've recognised but the final decision is still upon the immigration whether they'll give you the points for it or not.

    Hello Martina,

I already have my skills assessed from ANMAC and I'm claiming 5 points for the overseas experience. Hopefully I will get an invite from VIC soon.

    Thanks!

@Pooja NegiI'm sailing in the same boat. Registered Nurse (nec). Let's hope for Victoria invitation before November *hope high✌*.

May I know why you are not claiming points for your overseas experience?

It can be from overseas. You are eligible.

    Heyya!

Thanks for a quick reply. I was actually worried because now there are no chances of getting an invite from NSW and my occupation has an additional condition and that is actually sad. Anyway, I'm hoping I will get invite from VIC, will have to wait though. Also, chances of getting invitation will probably increase (may be) after November as I will get 10 points for not having a partner. Fingers crossed. 🤞

    Thank you so much @Lucky007
