  1. Hi Sj, Our timelines are the same. We got S56 done on August 26th. Have you confirmed all documents submitted once you uploaded your S56? We did this and the status automatically changed to “Further Assessment.”
  2. Hi guys, It’s funny. Just last night I was nervous about my visa and wrote on this forum. This morning, we got our visa granted! Thanks for the help. I was persistently following the timelines and discussions to get a sense of where we stand. All the the best for those waiting!
  3. Hi guys, Anyone around our timeline got their application approved? Applicants: 2 Stream: 457 TRT (3 years) Profession: Early career scientist. Company: A national research laboratory with over 5000 employees. Nomination applied: 11 July 2019 Nomination approved: 15 July 2019 Visa application applied: 12 August, 2019 S56 request: Medical test request appeared once we submitted the application online. So, we started preparing. A week later, we also got an email asking for medicals. Medical done and approved: 26 August 2019 S56 request signed by: NSWpese (no idea what pese means. We are based in Melbourne but HR department is in Sydney. So, possibly being processed in NSW.) I described my company to indicate that nomination approval appears to be really dependent on the company. In my case, our HR told me it may take 12-18 months. So we hadn’t even started thinking of our part of the application. It took us by surprise that it was approved so fast.
  4. Hi PTL, I am applying as a scientist but nomination is based on skill - Electrical Engineer as it was done on my 457 visa. Is there a special one as a scientist or an academic?
  5. Hi Guys, Any help is much appreciate. I am confused on one part of my 186 TRT application. Nomination approved already. I am filling in our part. What documentation should so submit for “qualification, skills and experience”. Would the following be okay: 1. PhD degree 2. Job contracts (10 years) Should I also include my CV and publication list? Should I also put in my undergraduate and Masters degree which are slightly different to my nominated occupation. Thanks for any help!
  6. Hi Guys, Any Indians here applying or have applied to 186? I am preparing to file our 186 visa. I am confused about my husband's English requirement. He has studied in India in "English medium" schools and Uni throughout his life. Does he still need to take PTE or IELTS exam to prove his functional English? Thanks for any help.
  7. Hi Guys, Here is my timeline: 186 (transition stream): On shore applicant having 10 years work experience, with 3 years in the same company and Australia. I have been given an indefinite contract now. Nomination submitted: 05/7/2019 Nomination approved: 10/7/2019. Number of applicant: 2 ( husband and I). Application is being prepared. I would like to know what documents I need to upload. According to the website, - medicals are need if requested - police check - English language competency for me and functional English for my husband. I have done PTE in addition to education in English all my life till Ph.D. My husband has studied in English medium schools and university in India. Would transcripts and degree certificates suffice to prove his functional English? He has a master's degree. - Skill assessment: not required for a scientist. Do I need to provide CV, job contract, pay slips, etc? Please help. Thank you. Best regards, Dianne
  8. HI guys, I have a quesiton. I work as a scientist. I have worked with the national research institute in Australia for the past 3 years. Now I have been offered an indefinite position and my work has filed for 186 TRT (grandfathering) PR nomination today. I have over 10 years of experience in the nominated occupation, I am 32 years old, and have recently done my PTE in which I surprisingly scored 90/90 (listening), 89/90 (reading), 90/90 (speaking), and 85 (writing). Had I submitted my application through DE, I would have 85-90 points. I am from a high risk country (India) although I have lived out of India for half my life. My queston is: does profession, nominating business, and English exam score matter in expediting the application? Thanks for any suggestions!
