  1. I’ve also got a guide that I paid for and downloaded. Happy to email it to you as it might help. I didn’t follow it to the T but definitely found it useful when I first started the process. Just to note, I only lodged in March so mines not been granted yet but I have been granted a temporary visa and exemption to enter Australia in December which is when we’re relocating
  2. When I was evidencing holidays together for example I would screenshot photos and then drop them in to a word document which I would then pdf. At least this way I was only uploading one document but with lots of evidence within it. It did mean I needed to compress the files as some were too large to upload but I was able to do this for free online. All in all it took me about 2 months to do it all (almost working and kids etc). I found it a long process and pretty painful at times but once its done it’s done! In my statutory declaration statement I would reference the evidence as I went along... I’ve attached a page from my statutory declaration with private bits blacked out as I thought it might be useful for you.
  3. Hi there. My partner visa still says ‘received’ no progress made (applied March 2020). I applied for a 600 visa in early September and a week later applied for the exemption. Two days later both were granted. Flight booked for 31/12/20. Happy to help with any questions that need answering
  4. @lepea thanks for the advice! not looking forward to quarantine. Wish you all the best for your future x
  5. Hi @kimboslice I would recommend ONLY going directly. My mum is a travel agent and she said third party bookings are never a good idea especially in current times.
  6. @kimboslice oh no !!!! We’re flying Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong 31/12/20 at 22:00. Honestly everyday I have this sick anxiety feeling in my tummy so worried we’re going to get cancelled or bumped etc. I’m sorry to hear about your emirates flight. There’s availability showing with Cathay Pacific on my flight. Take a look x
  7. @lepea oh wow that’s amazing!!!! I’ve booked my flight for New Year’s Eve - eeek!!! Travelling with the children solo and hubbie to follow in March. Also to Brisbane. Where are you moving to?. How exciting for you. So pleased you made it! Xx
  8. Thanks @lepea and @dunstan88 for your advice. This morning I was granted the 600 visa and travel exemption. Over the moon! Obviously its only the one hurdle - now to sort flights and actually get on it without being bumped, but slowly making progress!
  9. @lepea great news you've got yours though - well done and best of luck! Fingers crossed ours works out x
  10. If you don’t mind sharing I’d love to know too. I was hoping being together for 17 years, two children and the like would be enough for my exemption but perhaps it needs extenuating circumstances to be granted ? Alice
  11. So annoying isn’t it .mine still says received nothing more... I front loaded with medical and police report etc so a complete file with a ridiculous amount of evidence dating back to 2003 when we first met - took me months to put together. Would love some feedback on it at least but I understand they’re prioritising urgent visa request
  12. Hi there - so I was planning on not working for 6 months or so to get kids settled, rental sought etc etc but Obvs with the 600 visa you can’t work anyway so it will be ok for a bit but I am hoping the partner visa comes through so that I can start to work. I spoke to an immigration lawyer in Brisbane and she told me you’ll be notified when your partner visa is about to the granted so that you can fly out to accept it and then fly back in. You cannot be granted your PV onshore. Best of luck! What a nightmare year!!!
  13. Hi there - this is encouraging. I am in the same situation - Australian partner of 17 years, two dual citizen children together, awaiting my partner visa. I have applied for the 600 visa and since immi says I can only apply for exemption up to 3 months prior to travel I will have to wait until October (travelling - hopefully on 30th Dec). My question is will they only really consider me if my circumstances require compassionate exemption? We've been planning the relocation for a year now, children start school on the Sunshine coast in January. My husband says he's happy to take them over initially but I cant leave a 9 and 6 year old (who is autistic) without their Mamma! It's so stressful all this. I'm nervous I wont even get the exemption!
  14. Hi everyone - looking for advice. I applied for a partner visa in March 16th. My husband is an Aussie citizen and both our children have both British and Australian passports We were hoping to relocate to QLD in January 2021 ready for the start of school as theyll be starting a new school then. i’m yet to hear from immigration, the status still says ‘Application received.’ Can I still fly in January to the kids settled and the like? Then fly out and back until my visa is granted? If COVID-19 allows of course. has anyone been granted a partner visa from March onwards ? TIA Alice
