  1. Just under 3 weeks shy of 3 long years since applying we finally have our PR granted. It’s been a long stressful road but this site has been massively helpful. Stay strong those that are waiting
  2. You can’t go for Medicals without them requesting them. But no harm in preempting the afp and redoing that
  3. I just heard from my agent that immigration has requested confirmation from my employer of roel availability for coming 2 years. The nomination was approved over 2 years ago so makes sense they need this. Our agent advised this usually is indicative of a decision when confirmation is received. Has anyone had this request and how long before you received a decision?
  4. Good to hear - someone threw out there that the department were in leave till middle of Jan so that’s not the case for NSW at least! We got our medical clearances just before new year so hoping for some good news soon
  5. Hi all, after a very very long road I think we’re coming to the end!! Our process went to VACCU due to misinformation provided by a previous agent. We have had a new much improved angent since January. Our application passed character assessment in July and we have now been requested to retake medical tests (original ones out of date) From experience of friends etc the Health Check Request seems a positive sign that this is the last hurdle? Is there any consensus on this? Sadly like the rest of our process this part is far from straightforward as there are no appointments locally till end of Feb! Unreal! By then I will have a newborn son. So will need to get him added to the medical, get him registered and a UK passport in order to add him to the application! If only there wasn’t a huge 3 month wait I think we’d have PR and he’d be austomatically Aussie. Typical. does anyone have experience of this?
  6. a character test is where your case goes through to a specific department called VACCU because there's something on one of the applicants police report. Its not even something significant but anything at all. If the case officer needs more support in the character assessment side it gets referred. And can take as long as they need.
  7. Thank you! I know...hardly seems real that its taken this long. In a nutshell our original migration agent made a ton of mistakes. We got a new one and it was all corrected in Jan this year. So this news is very welcome relief. Ee really thought that original agent did soem real damage. So far the damage is time and lots of stress!
  8. I think it's been about a year since i posted but finally some progress! We've heard back today from our agent that my partner has passed the character test!!! woohoo. Hoping to hear back soon but now expecting the hurdle of another health assessment given ours was carried out over a year ago. Think wait times are quite long right now for the medical assessments. But we're almost there after being in this process for over 2 years!!!!!
  9. Same boat. It's no fun...but current timeframes are 15 - 19 months So I'm setting expectations that itll be December. Just uncomfortable taht my nomination was approved in March. Feels like a big gap.
  10. My nomination was approved in March and still waiting. Responsed to S56 in April and my partner had to provide more character docs so little more complex than average
  11. We submitted our S56 in april and are still waiting an outcome. I dont think there is a set or 'normal' timeframe to have your expectations weighted on. It's just a case of waiting.
  12. In on 98 days since supplying the info from a S56! Don't think this part is even in the slightest bit predictable so no chance of reasonable averages etc. Just a case of strap yourselves in and being patient. Hard as it is...
