We Managed to get a Brand new 2 bed apartment in prahran just off chapel and all our bills plus spending whatever we want we can still save over $2k so we are more then comfortable

Hi me and my girlfriend are heading over on a 482 at the end of the month, we’ve gotta Airbnb sorted for first few weeks whilst looking to secure a rental. can anyone recommend good furniture stores close to Windsor/Richmond/s.yarra (places we’re looking to rent in) as want to start weighing up the cost of what we want etc. Thanks

Thought for a monthly Myki it was about $150 and it’s got 2 ppl so c$300? no car or associated costs that’s just for groceries not eating out that’ll come from the surplus money. realistically looking at 50% of our wages is available to spend on entertainment and towards savings

Hi Coming over to Melbourne at end of May on a 482 visa. What percentage would I be taxed at for 90k? would I be taxed as a permanent resident?

appreciate that and it is very much how long is a piece of string. It was more to see if everyone was going to be replying that’s no where near enough etc etc but none so far so feel better about it.

We have no debt as have cleared it all so the $5.5k is for essentially entertainment purposes on a monthly basis. Didn’t Know whether the $5.5k sounded like a reasonable amount of disposable income we work in recruitment so will be adding to the savings with commission.

Also we will have circa $14000 in savings aswell.

I know this question will have been asked a lot however... me and my girlfriend are moving out to Melbourne and will have $150,000 per annum as basic salaries split into 90 / 60 plus we both work in recruitment so have the opportunity to earn commission. ive worked the following out; $600 food shopping $800 per week rent $400/500 utilities $250 Health insurance $320 Train a month - both Mobile phones are paid through work including personal calls so won’t need mobiles. Leaving around $5000 a month to live off etc.. does that seem reasonable?

Hi, i am immigrating and arriving into Melbourne on 30th May. I have opened a bank account with commonwealth bank and part of verification of the account is I need to provide certain bits of evidence to the branch. its asking me for my tax residency details or TIN but I’m from the UK and we don’t have this information! is it called something else in the UK or know what I need to get to prove my identify and fully unlock my new account. thanks

Mine has just come through today I applied on 2nd April 2019 so took 3 weeks to the day. They get carried out in date order so maybe early May when yours arrives. I’m waiting on 482 visa and had to get this so it can be processed as my certificate said no live trace. The subject access report is very detailed and goes into things like addresses, finger prints, DNA, charges, cautions, arrests, bail etc.

Oh that’s good! Ours was submitted on 16th so hoping it’ll be a similar time, my girlfriend has to have a medical next week as she is a defacto so need to provide that first before a decision will be made. Unless they make the decision pending a positive medical!

But would missing 1 2week holiday off the long list mean that my visa would be declined because I’d forgotten?

Maximum has only been 2 weeks as have all been holidays. i just listed all of them my immigration agent didn’t question anything either

Hi my 482 visa has been submitted and wanted to ask a question around the questionnaire I had to fill out. it asked for the last 10 years where I’d left the UK to essentially go on holiday. I have as much of the information I could remember and find out off my passport and pictures etc. If if I was to have forgotten 1 or 2 holidays from 9/10 years ago would this be grounds for them declining my 482 Visa do you think? thanks

Ok I understand that. is it digital copies I need to submit or photocopies or actuals

That’s what I thought because doing that for every visa application would take way too long and I imagine they wouldn’t have the authority to obtain that information with account holder being present etc. Be interesting to see if anyone comments who’s experienced it or anyone who works within the immigration department

Hi when putting all my information forward for my 482 Visa and proving that I’m in a defacto relationship, does the immigration officer ring my letting agent for instance and double check that both people listed on the tenancy agreement are the two people on visa application. Would they ring a utility provider to check that the information and 2 people listed on the bill are the 2 people on visa application. just wondering how much detail they go into as we’ve not lived together 6 months but been in a relationship over a year but how the bills have been generated when changing the details it looks like we’ve lived together 6 months. just don’t want it to look suss or come across like I’m trying to forge things. thanks

Hi will be sponsored for a 482 visa in the coming weeks and have already requested police report from the UK on myself. 14 years ago I was arrested for drink driving and subsequently lost my license. Is there a high risk they’ll decline my visa application on this basis? i have no other criminal history and I will be upfront in regards to answering the applicable questions

Stupidly no, only did all of that in Jan 2019. We was planning on buying a house in the UK so didn’t see the point in changing everything as this was the first time she’d left home. Looking back we should of done but I suppose when you’re In a relationship you don’t plan to have to prove it do you and because AUS wasn’t on the cards then we wasn’t trying to prove it to anyone if that makes sense? Worse case She can get a WHV as we won’t be entering aus until June 2019 and by that point we have 6 months with documents etc plus the other 18 months worth of photos / emails / messages etc. I can then ask to put her on my visa defacto correct? If if that is correct how long does that process take?

Hi I’m compiling evidence in preparation for a 482 tss visa and planning on putting my girlfriend on it as de facto when I apply for it through work sponsorship. it says I need 6 months evidence to add her as defacto is that true? Secondly, I’ve got bank statements of us swapping money between accounts, hotels booked from c9 months ago and flights booked March 2018 which we flew in August 2018. Do they count it from when you booked and paid for it or actually when you fly? Trying to compile as much evidence as possible, birthday cards, Christmas cards from friends and family. I’ve only literally just put her on my tenancy agreement because it was already taken out before we were ready to move in so need to prove other ways rather than living together. I’ve also got 12 months worth of itemised phone bills. thougyts please?

Hi Im looking for some solid advice please as I’m so confused!!!  im 35 years old and looking to obtain a recruitment job through sponsorship - I personally meet the criteria for the visa etc (so I’m told) My girlfriend who is 24 is coming too, but initially on a WHV. ive been told that because we can’t prove our relationship has been 12 months (until August 2019 - with flight records and photos etc) she can enter on a WHV then transfer onto my sponsorship visa as a defacto? really confused and don’t want to end up that after a year she has to leave. She has a degree and 2 years recruitment experience so matches the requirements to get sponsorship herself, Is that more advisable? thanks in advance!!
