Hi @Nicci do you think your husbands criminal history is why yours had taken so long? That’s what’s making me so nervous. My partner has a record from over 20 years ago and got two six month sentences. We declared everything and he has been granted two 457 Visas before so logic tells me it will be ok but you just never know.

We only lodged March 11 so we have a long time to wait anyway but the thought of a year is disheartening.

If you have declared them then they will I'll into them and may ask for further information that's what they asked us for so had to apply to Acro for information, my husband was disorderly behaviour (pub fight) only got a fine and he is Australian so wouldn't of stoped him going back if they rejected my application but he was my sponsor and they look into them more now aswell. Not sure what previous visas your husband used, I applied for permanent.

Ha ha, I know that feeling - this whole process drives you nuts 🤪

It is a nightmare guys, thinking of you all tho it took us a year applied 22nd March 18 got my email 25th March this year, we did have a problem with my husband's police check tho, word of advice disclose everything even if you think doesn't matter anymore!! Good luck every one 🤞

@Ingers @GemTrae Don’t get me wrong...I know there are lots of you still waiting who lodged well before me. Obviously each case, once looked at, can take varying amounts of time to process, and that’s probably dependent on all sorts of factors. However, from looking at the Immi website, they seem to have a queue system for the initial assessment. This, and looking at the spreadsheet, is what’s giving me hope that they’re now starting to look at the October lodgements. I realise that after it’s been first looked at it’s anyone’s guess at how long it takes, but at least there’s a glimmer of hope 🙂 I didn’t mean to offend anyone...fingers crossed all of you who have been waiting for a long time hear something soon🤞

You didn't offend anyone just think people are frustrated at the slowness of it all. Thry have shut the Madrid office which means all applicants go through the London office with limited staff so I've been told. Apprantely it was 7 - 9 months lead time now it's gone to up to 19 months! If only coming to England was as difficult hey 🤔

Honestly, this is torture. I'm trying to be patient but my husband has a 3 month notice period and we want to travel at the end of May which means end of Feb for his resignation.
If my visa isn't through soon it's panic time.

Everything is organised pretty much apart from the visa. Surely 14 years together and coming up to 11 years of marriage should be an easy yes! emoji24.pngemoji24.png

All my husband's ancestor needed to do was steal a love of bread and he was sent to Australia for free! He even arrived a free man having served his sentence on the ship there!!! I don't suppose if I "half inch" a packet of crumpets from Sainsbury's the same thing will happen emoji23.pngemoji23.png

I know the feeling it's a absolute nightmare, we can't plan anything applied last March requested futher info a couple of time. When did you apply? Doesn't seem to be much movement with grant at the mo 🤔😞

Fingers  crossed it won't be long till you get the email 🙂

CEP you are a legend for doing this. Having a visual on how the Visas are going is amazing! Would you be kind enough to add us to your spreadsheet?

Our story is pretty simple so far - applied on the 15th November and no contact since.

Best of luck to everyone else for their Visas!

True believe us, it's so slow at the moment apprantely everything has slowed down due to the Madrid office shutting it's gone to the London office only....time will tell i guess 🤔

If the rabies vaccine and rabies blood sample are done, then you are done for now until your visa comes back. The rabies blood sample result only lasts for 2 years, so when it gets to 20-22 months old get Dottie and other vaccine and blood sample and as long as it is done before the first is 2 years old there is no rule to wait for 180 days again.

Maybe submit some quote requests and get quotes for her and make contact with shippers, but no need to sign up with anyone until your own visa comes back.

Thank you so much for all your help and advice Bob i really appreciate it, it's a mind field as it is let alone the stress and worry that goes with it. I will contact Petair and start the ball rolling, Fingers crossed won't be long till I hear regarding my visa 🤞

Welcome to the waiting lounge @Urban_Fox

Long service members will notice I've now started to refer to it as the "lounge" rather than the "room"- simply because we've been here a while so i think lounge feels more homely.  Although I hope to be let out on good behaviour in the near future!

Sloooooow progress this week - its absolute torture!  I just want to get back into work!! Here's an update on current state of play 🙂

I'm poised - waiting to colour in more blocks of green...

    Hi Nicci

There are lots of good companies in UK, we just differ on what we offer and hence the price differences.

We have flown very many nervous dogs all over the world and really they just get through it. I doubt they love it, but it is 10 days quarantine plus flight time, so i think of it as short term pain for long term gain of staying with their families. Honestly, you are going to worry until you get her back in Australia, but that does no good for anyone. All i can say is that these pets get through the quarantine and the flight and get back with their families and are super excited to see it. There are a couple of videos on our facebook page of dogs being reunited with their owners and they are truly heart warming.

In terms of the epilepsy, some pet shippers will get involved and help, some wont and will put the responsibility on to you. From our point of view, we would want to see her history and be happy that she is stable. we have a super agent in Singapore who goes in to check on all our pets who transit through Singapore and look after them - we dont leave it to the airline staff. And this agent has given medication at the stop over point. then while in quarantine she can have twice daily medication as well.

So, really there is no reason for her not to fly, but her journey and planning needs extra input to minimise risks. There are still risks of the journey setting off a fit, or if she vomits after she enters her second leg of the journey and brings her medication back up, then fitting becomes a greater probability. But these risks are outweighed by the benefit of her getting the chance to stay with her family.

I hope that helps and if you have any more questions then let us know. This is a potentially really useful thread for people and pets in a similar position

Thank you for coming back to me and understanding it's such a nerve racking time for Dottie and us. Finding a good company to transport my precious Dottie is extremely important to me. We are very lucky that our dog since being diagnosed with eplisey (I'm not sure they are certain as didn't do the usual fitting/paddling of eplisey) but decided to try her on epiphen three quarters tablet twice a day seems to have stopped anything and regularly bloods show all is well.

Is it best to wait till we get our visa before contacting your company or should i start that now? Dottie has her passport, had her rabies injection last year and bloods to check all ok so I'm not sure where i should go from here, any help greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for you time.

    Kind regards

    Hi all, I'm in!

Been having a few computer/ email problems so checked immi account this evening to find the word finalised on my status. Bit overwhelming but very relieved,  husband is delighted, he is going home after 35 years here!

Thanks all for your support and I hope others on similar time scale will also get good news this week.

We fly 9 weeks tomorrow as does our dog! Leaving 23 yr old son here so slight mixed feelings!

    Well done you! 👏👏

I hope you don't mind me asking you a few questions as we are on exactly the same boat just waiting for that golden email now and will be leaving my 23 years son here, who i hope will follow. Our dog will be coming with us, who are you using to transport your special cargo to their new life? I'm so worried about this and o think as up to date with everything I need for her without actually knowing the date we leave so some tests/check are time sensitive.

Hope you didn't mind me asking just feeling overwhelmed by moving to the other side of the world so want to make sure I'm as prepared as i can be beforehand.

    Kind regards

    Nicci

  11. This is my 1st post, we are waiting for my visa to come through and hope to be moving in April my main concern is out 5 year old patterdale who is a very nervous worries lottle gilr who suffers with eplisey which is under control completely. I am so worried about the journey for her I've started her checks had the rabies injection got her passport etc, just looking for a good company who will look after her and reassure me it will all be ok. It's not a option to leave her behind she family and know she will love it bit I'm losing so much sleep worrying about the flight and quarantine for her. Any advice greatly recieved. Many thanks

  12. Hi all,

My 1st post on here we are in the process of moving to Sydney just waiting for the "golden email" with visa details. I have a 5 year old patterdale who is so nervous I've started all her checks, had  rabies injection got passport I've been looking at different companies and Petair by far seems the best. I feel sick at the thought of her on cargo for the lengthof time especially as she's so nervous and doesn't like any kind of loud voice etc plus she's epileptic so on medication twice a day.

Can anyone help with how there dog was by the time they met with them after the 10 day quarantine, I know she will have a better life and leaving her behind is not a option she is family! Guess I'm just looking for reassurance from real people that have done it. Any tips would be great to.....many thanks
