  1. Hi there, This is my current situation: So I applied for my citizenship January 2019 when I was 17. I had to pay for my first year fees upfront. My application was approved in November 2019. I'm still waiting for my ceremony date. It has now been three months since my approval date and I'm still waiting. The census date is on the 31st of March. Last week Thursday (13 February) I posted my invoices alongside the urgent ceremony request form to the address specified on the form (in Sydney). I am still waiting for some form of response from the department. I live in Geelong, Vic btw. Do you guys have any suggestions of what I should do as I'm starting to panic! Please note: I have read other forums on here of students who managed to get into urgent ceremony's in tim for them to apply for the HECS loan so I know it is possible. I just need guidance in the right way to go about it. Thanks!
  2. Hi there, So sorry too hear about your situation. I applied for my citizenship in January 2019 when I was 17 and my application was approved in November 2019. I'm still waiting for my ceremony. My father applied for his citizenship at the end of November/ start of December 2019. Got an invitation to interview and sit the test in December. He sat his test in January 2020 and he was approved the same day. Now he's waiting for his ceremony.
  3. Hi there, I know I'm posting in this thread many years after it was active, but I'm hoping you guys can still respond. So I applied for my citizenship January 2019 when I was 17. 4. No, I am not. Applicants who are aged 16 and 17 must submit a separate application. So my father has only included my siblings under 15 in his application
  5. Hi guys. So I'm currently a recent year 12 graduate who will be starting uni this year. I am a permanent resident who has lived in Australia for over 4 years now and I am about to submit my Australian citizenship application. As I am under 18 years, I do not have to sit the test or interview. Does this mean my application may be processed quite quickly? I am hoping to have my citizenship before my uni fees are due (on 12 March 2019) so that I may apply for the HECS-loan which is only available to Australian citizens. Do you guys know how realistic it is that I will have my citizenship by then?
