    We do not have a list. Based on the information available on this forum the processing of some occupations takes more time. Because for example there is more risk for immi when a person nominated by a small beauty salon as a hairdresser or a small restaurant as cook be a non-genuine applicant compare to a person nominated by large cooperation as a manager. There was a discussion about processing time if you go back a couple of pages you will see your case usually be inactive during 80-90% of the waiting time (just collecting dust in the system J ). I think immi keep those high-risk occupations for a longer period to see if the business still operating or if the applicant still working in the same occupations. I read a couple of posts here about small business closed or sold during the waiting period.

    Thanks for your reply. I checked the spreadsheet and we have approval in June. Anyway...this means applications lodged in Aug and onward will process sooner than those for example lodged in April...welcome to the chaotic immi processes.

    Thanks Hex. I edited my post. I am asking about 186 as citizenship doesn't have nomination approvals. The citizenship process is an example of delays in immi processes which I found in the news. As they usually do not talk about it.

    Hi Guys, I am following the trend of visa and nomination approvals for 186 visas. Immi is processing Feb and March applications at the moment. I think a huge number of applicants in Feb causing the delay, however, we should consider significant periods of inactivity for all the cases (waiting time). It seems delay is not only related to 186 visas. In the News: “An official government audit has slammed Peter Dutton's Home Affairs department for "long delays" in approving citizenship applications. Applications for citizenship have not been processed efficiently by the Department of Home Affairs," the auditors concluded. "Processing times have increased and long delays are evident between applications being lodged and decisions being taken on whether or not to confer citizenship.” Approvals for 186 showing different patterns at the moment. We have nominations and visas approval from June and August. If you have any thoughts or know something please share it. Immi processing applications differently? Base on occupations? organisation? Applications assigned to different teams/CO?

    I know but nothing is fair in this world I believe there are some reasons behind the delay...I do not believe in randomness.

    I think it may be good to discuss some possible reasons behind the delay. a) CO (e.g. change of CO, maternity leave, etc.) b) Nomination by a small firm?? c) Occupation d) Any issues in the application (e.g. convictions, work experience from an unknown employer, previous visa refused by AU or other countries) e) ??

    Hey Guys, I was wondering to know if CO assigned to your case the status has to be changed or it can be "received". My friend told me the status of his visa application (graduate visa) was changed on the same day that his visa granted. A question regarding assessment time: 15 - 19 months means you lodge your visa after the nomination approval? So if you lodge them together the processing time should be less than 15 months? When the processing time was 9 to 11 months (last year) all of my friends who lodged both nomination and visa applications together got their visa within 5-6 months. I checked the Excel timesheet and most of the applicant (Not all) received their visa sooner than the processing time.

    As far as I know, your medicals won't expire if you complete them specifically for 186 visa after you lodge your application. I remember someone in this forum called the immigration and they confirmed that...If they want us to do medicals by CO requests, we won't be able to see our HAP ID and medical examination details. Form 26 (Medical examination): Please be aware that if you do complete your health examinations before lodging your visa application you may need to undertake additional health examinations if: • you later lodge a visa application for a different visa subclass; • you decide to stay in Australia for a longer period; • you do not complete all the required health examinations; or • your health examinations expire prior to a decision being made on your visa application.
