Hi, i read somewhere that refusal rates for 187 were at 50%. Does anyone know why so many refusals? I presume it can’t be due to poor quality submissions, as they would have always been happening.

Hi, Just trying to figure out possible timelines. Once you’ve submitted your 187 DE visa, when does the DHA first look at it? Is it really only when a case officer is assigned or, do they have a quick 5 minute view to check whether it needs expediting? Cheers

Hi, We are in a very similar position. Could you apply for a 482 visa, giving her potential employer access to skills much earlier. It also may derisk it all for the employer. I’m sure you’ve realized that it’s actually a 4 year commitment really. 2 year waiting and then 2 year employment offer. So the 482, if available could act as a compromise, ask that they apply for the 187 visa at the same time. I’m told it’s possible. Of course it doubles the visa cost.

Are there limitations on when the company needs to be established? Until it's up and running, how does it demonstrate cash flow etc?

My UK employer is opening a branch in Mackay. That new branch will need a senior person to lead it and to train the local workforce on how to do the job. am I able to apply under RSMS? Thanks
