  1. Total nonsense. You get hit and misses when you call immigration. Might as well ask here directly haha
  2. I dont have an example. However, I think you just need to make sure the points I mentioned are covered. No strict format
  3. Hi there, Good luck for your application! From your date of application, I can tell it will be a long process but hope this forum will help you out through hard times. When I applied, I indeed negotiated for a longer contract and was fortunate to get a long 2year 7month contract at level A. This was indeed an advice from the HR department. However, since you have a 2 year contract, I think your application is quite solid. One advice that I read some time ago is to also upload a letter from your PI stating that he intends to hire you beyond the contract as long as there is grant money. And to explain that in academia level A employees are mostly on soft money and long contracts are very rare. This may strengthen your case a bit. I see no harm trying this. Hope this helped.
  4. I would request for new police check regardless. This is to be safe and so that you can submit what they request asap, or get approved immediately. they asked me to provide new one even when I did one 7 month prior. Took me 1 month to get mine done, which delayed my approval.
  5. Hi, Yes. They asked for several documents which took me quite a bit of time to get. This included police clearance from countries that I have not visited since applying. Best to keep your police clearance updated regardless of whether you visited the country or not
  6. Hi all, Happy to announce that I got the golden email today! You can see my signature for my whole timeline. Would like to thank everyone in the website for being very supportive. It was really encouraging to check this website everyday to see updates and grants. I did not use MA but I can see the benefit of having one. It really depends on your situation. Reminder to everyone that once you apply for PR, you are eligible for Medicare! This saved me a lot of money! My advice to all is to keep calm and try not to check immiaccount everyday. Your time will come! Will visit once in a while! good luck all!
  7. It should not take more then a week. The results will be automatically updated on your immiaccount but it will be changed to processing first then itll say no further action needed
  8. I have heard others having immigration turn up then shortly after, their CO would request for further documentations, then silence for a long time. Another one I heard is that you get the call from CO, and if they are happy with everything, you will get a direct grant. There are still too many possibilities. My advice is to not keep your hopes too high. When it happens it happens.
