    Hi, I am currently here on a 600 visa with the same 8101 and 8201 conditions and want to apply for a further 6 month stay due to current pandemic we also have a 143 application ongoing can you tell me what a BVA is, or can anyone give me any advice on what I can do

    Hi Linda, we are currently in Australia on a 600 visa as we are in the same boat as you.  After a lot of thought we decided to go for it.  We rented out our uk home to give us an income and put all belongings in storage.  Post can be redirected by Royal Mail for a fee but not that much really.  It is worth doing we haven’t looked back at all and now feel less in limbo.  Good luck

      Thank you for the info. Am guessing you will sell once you get your visa? If so be aware that there are done financial changes coming in April which could mean paying CGT on the sale of rented homes. Not sure I fully understand it but google “accidental landlords uk”

      thanks for the update but it will not be rented from September and we will return to reside in it whilst it is prepared for market.  Not expecting to sell till spring 2021.  Hopefully by then we may be a bit closer to end goal but have found this 12 months beneficial for our state of mind if nothing else.  Good luck with your decision

    Hi everyone, as the 143 visa applications now appear to be on the move, I thought I would actively join the group. We applied in Jan 2017 and am wondering how far into 2016 we are now. They seem to be pushing them through quite quickly. Can anyone update me please

    Thanks for your advice, think the 600 would be granted first though as not expecting the 143 for at least another 18 months, but good to know.

    Hi Everyone, new to this forum and just wondered if anyone could help me. We lodged our visa application in January 2016, and as we all know since then the processing times have escalated. I am thinking about applying for a 600 (12 month visitors visa) to enable my husband and I to go to Australia and spend time with our children as they both live there whilst awaiting a decision on the 143. Has anyone done this before or does anyone have any other suggestions. Thanks in advance
