  1. It is just my perception but it feels that in this way (delayed processing) they implement some kind of annual quotas on immigrants intake. Obviously, quotas are implemented indirectly by the total amount of COs allocated for 186/187 streams processing, but there seem to be some kind of further tuning based on the region, occupation and etc. Just IMO
  2. Unfortunately, 28 days is a deadline given for you to provide documents, not for them to assess your visa. 28 calendar days starting from the next day after you received your s56
  3. If you didn't receive S56/decision it means that they haven't touched your visa as yet... Unfortunately, there are many people with nomination approved who are waiting for a long time after. Seems like they assess nomination and visa almost always separately. Hopefully, yours will be assessed soon!
  4. Based on different people timelines it seems to be the case in almost 90% situations. Sometimes it is much longer than 28 days, rarely - quicker (2-3 weeks). It is 30th day since I received S56. Yesterday I applied for a new AFP as my current one has expired today. At least AFP processes requests quickly, it took them just 1 business day to issue a certificate, unfortunately they don't provide a PDF copy of it so I will have to wait for it to be mailed.
  5. You can upload documents any time you want. Not sure about the status workflow, but I would expect the status to change either on the date of the deadline or once you press "I confirm I have provided information as requested"
  6. That's a bit strange, as unless you have done your health checks already for some other visa in the past 12 months - you have at least do your health declarations otherwise, you are risking to wait extra time fulfilling s56 asking for the same... And yes, from what I understand if you never had your health checked for AU immigration then you must go through the examination.
  7. You can try calling them, I guess. They have support line to address issues like yours...
  8. In that case, you need to contact your MA to get your HAP ID details, as I am guessing they provided Health Assessment details on your behalf. Yes, you can apply for your Medicare card: https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/subjects/how-enrol-and-get-started-medicare/enrolling-medicare/how-enrol-medicare-if-youre-australian-permanent-resident/documents-enrol-medicare-if-youve-applied-permanent-residency
  9. Did you submit your application via ImmiOnline? You are supposed to receive HAP ID after filling your Health Assessment form on your application details page, if you haven't had your medical examinations done in the last year.
  10. I guess the difference in the processing time is mainly due to the higher number of documents (education, experience, language) that DE applicants have to provide and the greater chance of mistake or a number of s56 requests. My colleague has recently received his 186 DE PR after waiting for just a bit more than a week since the date of the nomination & visa lodgement.
  11. Is your spouse the main applicant, otherwise why do you think those documents are relevant for 186/187?
  12. Thanks! That's what I thought as well, not sure why can't they just mention the need of the disclosure consent somewhere in the application form.
  13. Congrats! When did you submit the documents they requested in the last s56? It's just that I'm in the same situation and trying to guess how much more time I'll have to wait - my documents were submitted on Aug 21st (certificate & disclosure submitted).
  14. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/employing-and-sponsoring-someone/sponsoring-workers/learn-about-sponsoring/cost-of-sponsoring But as far as I know, even many MAs recommend their employer-clients to pass those costs on the applicant which doesn't seem to be appropriate from the Department perspective.
  15. 1. No, only your employer can receive updates regarding the nomination they filled. 2. Based on what MA told my employer the Department of Home Affairs does not provide any status updates and its processing time is a part of overall processing time for 186 (not 100% sure about the last one). 3. You are supposed to pay the costs of your visa application unless you can convince your employer to pay instead. 4. Based on what I've seen here it is very discretional and even random. Also, my CO asked for a new police clearance (NZ) even though the one I provided hasn't expired yet. And yes, you can lodge as soon as you have all documents collected, there is no need to wait for nomination to be approved. Some people prefer not to do so to delay application fees payment. But there is a chance that if you apply the same time your application will be reviewed soon after the nomination - I have few friends whos applications were finalised the next day after their nomination. 5. I'm looking for an answer as well But logically you should probably not be able to cancel your OVHC until you change your current visa as mantaining OVHC is most likely a condition of your current visa 457/482/... And generally there is not benefit I can think about from enrolling with Medicare before 186 is yours - there is a chance that you'll be paying more for it (~2% of your annual income, but please check) and you might also have to pay medicare surcharge for the period of the year you were on it.
  16. Hey, I'm in a similar situation. CO sent S56 requesting a new NZ police check which I sent the next day. It is already ~12th day since I've been contacted by CO and my case is still in the Further Assessment. As someone mentioned here, if the same CO will open your case then your PR will be granted straight away. And your nomination hasn't been granted yet? I thought they only touch the application if the nomination is granted.
  17. Thanks! Hopefully, it will go just fine. I can't think about any additional documentation they might want to see as the case is quite clear and as some people might say - Decision Ready. My colleague's situation was even simpler as he never resided in any foreign country in the past and his home country is from the LR list, so much fewer documents required and probably more lenient approach than if he was from an HR country. Anyway, let's see how it goes. I was going to apply last year but because of the restructuring process withing a company, I had to wait for another year.
  18. Hi all, Waiting is killing me, can't help myself not to refresh the status page almost every hour! But to be honest I didn't expect processing to be as fast, I've got my nomination approved in ~3 weeks since its lodgement and the initial assessment for my visa application was done the next day. Unfortunately, the initial assessment didn't result in my application being approved - CO decided that it might be a good idea to request a fresh NZ police clearance certificate and also asked for a disclosure consent - both were provided the next day. And now I'm wondering whether it happens to all applicants required to provide clearance for NZ (as there is no mentioning of the disclosure consent form anywhere in their readme)? So, now it is 6th day since application status changed to Further Assessment. How long do you think it can stay like that? Or maybe they are just going to keep it on hold until the given deadline expired (28 days to provide documents requested in s56). Also, maybe someone knows, does completion of the Initial Assessment means that CO was satisfied with the rest of the application? Or they process an application until they find the first problem and recommence processing when it is resolved? One colleague of mine applied the same day with me and has already received his 186 (DR) - the overall process took him around 2 weeks.
