We have just had a positive result for one of our clients whose skills assessment was submitted via Vetassess's new Priority Processing Service.

The application was approved in 6 days. That's certainly an improvement on 12 weeks!

All documents must be provided at time of application. If there is anything missing or not provided to their satisfaction then the application reverts to standard processing times and the priority fee is refunded.

    Regards,

    Richard

PS Priority Processing is for Vetassess General occupations only.

    Hi Richard,

I just submitted my skills assessment (Management Consultant- ANZSCO Code 224711) yesterday, hopefully it will generate priority processing and a positive result. I submitted the following documentation:

    • Certified passport page
    • Passport photo
    • Signed declaration form
    • Character references (Work, Uni and Sport)
    • University and High School Qualifications and Transcripts (Both Australian)
    • Employment
      • Contracts, References, Payslips, PAYG Summaries and Super Account summaries (For current work and previous experience)
    • CV

Will this be sufficient for priority processing?

    Appreciate any feedback!

    Kind Regards,

For a question like that, you really should be having at least an initial consultation with a good RMA but here's my take on it.

In order to apply for a state sponsored visa, you'll must have a positive skills assessment which for that occupation is done by VETASSESS. It's up to them to determine if it's an occupation you can nominate but if you've just graduated, even if your qualification is considered by VETASSESS as being 'highly relevant', you don't have the required post-qualification work experience.

For the occupation of Management Consultant (ANZSCO Code 224711), their requirements for a positive skills assessment are:

... a qualification which is assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Bachelor degree or higher degree, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation.

In addition to this, applicants must have at least one year of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation. If employment is not post-qualification, then five additional years of highly relevant employment are required.

If the degree is not in a highly relevant field, three years of employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years in a field which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation is required. This is reduced to two years if there is an additional qualification at least at AQF Diploma level in a highly relevant field.

A positive assessment of both qualifications and employment is required for a positive Skills Assessment Outcome.

Im currently on the 485 Visa and its about to expire, hence why I am looking for the PR pathway. I understand the challenges at the moment, but its my best shot and I believe based on the criteria for the skills assessment and work experience, I may get a positive skills assessment.

    Hi!

With relation to the above, im about to lodge my skills assessment with VETASSESS. I have a Bachelor of Business and Commerce Degree and just completed a year of work experience working as an associate Project Manager in Finance/IT (Fintech). Should I make the jump and apply for my skills assessment straight away or request some advice on this from VETASSESS? Appreciate any feedback on this! @Raul Senise

The caveats relate to the sponsoring employer and the job you are being offered, not your current job in India.

    Hi Raul,

Im about to lodge my skills assessment with VETASSESS. I have a Bachelor of Business and Commerce Degree- (Majors in Finance and Economics, Minors: Management, Accounting) and now I have 1 year experience working as an associate Project manager in Finance and IT. I just need some guidance as to whether I have a shot at securing a successful skills assessment? I have with me employment references with this role and in them my direct boss has listed out my duties and they are similar/same as what is on VETASSESS. The same is with my previous roles at uni and and post uni. Should I lodge my skills assessment or seek advice from VETASSESS first in regards to the employment?

    Appreciate any feedback on this.

    Hi!

Yes completed form 80 ahead of time.

I’ve just submitted info for skills assessment via VETASSESS (this is in progress) husband still gathering his doc ready for his skills assess (ACS). IELTS booked for 24/3/2018. So all looking positive! :)

    Hi!

If you dont mind me asking, Which occupation are you applying for with VETASSESS and what documents did you end up submitting with them?

    Kind Regards,

    Netani

  8. How is the preparation going? Got my test results back for the academic band, so can submit this for my skills assessment and hopefully get a positive outcome. However I want to maximise my english scores so will do the general test also. How is your prep going?

  9. Brilliant! Currently doing mine as we speak, dont have enough space so for some areas so will attach a supporting letter. Oh nice, im just waiting for my IELTS results, it comes out this Friday - so fingers crossed then I can send it off to CPA so they can give me (hopefully) a positive assessment.

Keep me in the loop with your progress, I'll give you a heads up also on how I am tracking.

    Kind Regards,
